Which bag?

I want a new bag for work. I’m a primary school teacher so practicality is important. I’m not someone in an office taking it it meetings etc. who needs something super stylish.
There is a huge price disparity and I can afford the more expensive one but I can’t really justify it.

Help me decide.

Both are really pale, my school bag gets grubby pretty quickly so would consider a darker one, and something I can wipe clean! If definitely just one of them then the NL one, it's not such a long term investment!

The Bellroy ones are supposed to be quite hardy and long lasting if that helps!

Good point, the NL one comes in black too.

The Bellroy one has fab pockets inside but to me the material looks cheaper than its price tag! It looks a little bit like a beach bag tbh.

NL one is great - agree with PP that the grey will get grubby pretty fast so I'd be inclined to go for the black.

I’m not overly keen on either. As a teacher myself, I love having a nice bag that is stylish. If I were to choose one, the first because it’s meant to look robust and practical. The grey one looks cheap and won’t last long.

Floralnomad · 31/08/2023 10:55

The first one is much nicer , lovely in the green

shibhon · 31/08/2023 10:59

Wildbounds one for me. The NL one looks cheap (and it is). Won't last.

LindaDawn · 31/08/2023 11:56

I do wonder if the NL one would lasts. You may have to spend more to get quality therefore it lasts so much longer.

PriamFarrl · 31/08/2023 12:21

I’ve been into NL and the bag was just a bit, meh. I know that neither are what done people would consider stylish but a lot of what is out there just isn’t me.

If the Bellroy one was £60 or so it wouldn’t be a question.

Off to search further.

How about a Longchamp Le Pliage tote?

User9088 · 31/08/2023 16:30

I've been looking at this, might be worth a look. There are a few colours

Thank you all.

I’ve ended up ordering a Florelli Thea and an Austyn and I’ll see which one I like best.

I bought this one on a whim in Piccadilly station whilst a bit tipsy waiting for a train and I love it, it can be either quite a wide structured one, or you clip it together in the middle and it goes a bit more slouchy and casual...it fits over my chubby little shoulder well as well and sits nicely under my arm or in the crook of it and the colour is lush and expensive looking even though it's not. I'm obsessed!
