Soft merino wool socks

Want to buy my mum some for her brthday. Shes diabetic so needs really soft socks, and suffers from cold feet, hates thick bulky socks. Seen loads online but any recomendations?

Don’t know about merino, and would love to see the recommendations, but Bam Clothing have some lovely soft bamboo socks.

I also have some very light and soft merino socks that I got from John Lewis last Winter, they do have elastic at the top though. I will find a link if they are still doing them.

If she's a size 6 or above, I have a three pack from the men's department in M&S and not only were they very reasonable for merino, they are so soft and come up nice and high so keep you really warm! They're my favourite socks, just so annoying they don't do them in women's sizes:

I like the Falke cosy wool socks they are 30% wool and 17% cashmere and keep my feet nice and warm at work.
