Help for thinning hair

Hi,

I've just turned 40 so not sure if it's an age thing but I have noticed my hair is thinning. I don't have any bald spots but seem to have lost a lot of thickness. I've always had, I would say, medium fine hair but a lot of it but now when I grab my hair in my hand there isn't as much as there used to be. It's just below shoulder length. I am losing a lot of hair when I brush or shower but this has been the case my whole life. Is there anything I can do?

Hi @Stropalotopus83
Check your iron levels hun. Also, eat nuts daily, almonds, walnuts, cashew you'll see a difference xx

Diet sorted mine out, lots of eggs, they contain biotin which is good for hair. Generally make sure you eat a good amount of protein & take iron supplements.

I went to the Philip Kingsley clinic in London and had some blood tests which showed I had low B12, Vit D, Ferritin and zinc. The difference since taking those supplements has been amazing, it might be worth having bloods done?

I developed this about a year before my periods stopped, so assumed it was hormone related

Thank you all - general consensus seems to be low vitamin/nutrients etc. I will get some bloods done and start taking some multivitamins - tbh I probably should taking these anyway so even if it's not this they won't hurt!

Thanks all x
