Is there an age where ripped jeans are not acceptable?

Maybe they are not acceptable at any age?

I loathe ripped jeans. Always have, always will.

You know what I loathe more than ripped jeans? People not wearing something they like because they think they're too old.

You rock your rips!

I think they are horrible and look ridiculous whatever age the wearer is. There's no age cut off for wearing them , if you want to.

I really dislike them also. And because of my age, my main concern is how cold and drafty they must be!

But agree with a previous poster that you can wear whatever you like at whatever age. Just don't forget your thermals

I’m 47 and wear ripped jeans.

I think you need to be slim and young to look good

My favourite jeans have ripped naturally just bellow the knee on one leg.
Perhaps I could sew them up and they will just look a bit distressed?
I couldn't bear to dispose of them when they are so comfy.

I saw a girl wearing ones where the front of the thigh was all exposed. All I could think of was whether she shaved that square of her leg only, her entire leg, or didn't shave at all. I like to think she sat and carefully shaved the exposed bits only.

Leave them as they are. That's a world away from buying pre- ripped jeans. I'd have given a different reply if you'd said that in your first post.

Motorina · 27/08/2023 15:37

Ohhh gosh yes. Jeans that have ripped naturally through age and time are totally fine. It's fake distressed ones I hate.

(Except when they rip over the arse-cheek, as always seems to happen to me!)

I don't know what size or age the OP is but I think wearing her favourite jeans which have ripped naturally though age and wear and tear will look pretty cool.

Apologies OP I thought you were thinking about buying a pre-ripped pair.
