Apologies if this has been done to death!
I'm used to wearing dresses but want to venture into trousers but can't find a pair that is comfortable at allllll.

I'm a pear shape but now also have a bit of a mum tum. 5'3 size 10.
Where should I be looking? What should I be looking for? Please help.

I love M&S for work trousers.
I’m not sure which mine are, but they have an elasticated waist, wide leg, and really stretchy thick material.

I love the Uniqlo wide leg trousers. Really flattering and comfortable

I came to suggest these 😊

But you don’t say whether you work in a motorway service station, a classroom or Inner Temple chambers!

Or whether you want to spend £35, or ten or twenty times that …

Matalan always have a good selection

I have some lovely pairs from Hobbs as well, but M&S is my staple place for work trousers.

I'd suggest going to M&S to try on styles as they have a lot of different shapes and lengths etc. To get an idea of what suits you (and maybe buy a pair or 2). But it also gives you better knowledge to look elsewhere in a more focussed way and look online for what you want to try before heading back to shops or ordering.

Some Marks ones are great, but some are rubbish - but it will give you a chance to see if slim, straight, tapered or wide leg suit you best - I tend towards straight with a similar shape and 5'4" as wide legs make me look like a child playing dress up.

I found the H&M cigarette trousers good for work. I'm 5'4 and size 8-10. They didn't need hemmed. They have pockets and belt loops, a small amount of stretch and are straight cut, not flappy or skinny. Wash very well too. I got 4 pairs in neutral colours that go with pretty much anything.

Great ideas!
Also a good point! I work in a professional environment. Mid/senior level looking to advance. So I want to look polished but also don't need to wear a suit. If that helps?

Also I'm willing to pay anything for a decent pair that I can then match with a variety or tops. Equally don't mind a cheap pair if they are the right shape/fit!

Two places that would be high on my list, each with a small, carefully chose variety of styles.
