stitch fix UK is "ending"...

I have used Stitch fix for the past few years (with varying degrees of success from the "fixes") however I have bought quite a few of their suggested items of clothing...just got an email to say their "UK journey is ending", with up to 70% off when you keep all five items in a fix, 50% when you keep up to 4 items, last fixes will be delivered by 31st October. I had one booked for October, as was on I think 3 monthly fixes, and I have changed that for monthly. So I'll get one in September then another in October. I know the cost of living etc, and was thinking I should stop this anyway, but I really hate shopping and I'm quite fussy! Are there any alternatives to this way of shopping?

You could try lookiero or circle of style?

alifemoreorlessordinary · 25/08/2023 17:57

I like Lookiero much better. More variety.
Maybe I'll see if I can get myself some bargains for winter on Stitchfix though

LexCake · 25/08/2023 22:11

I might try Lookiero too! Started SF in lockdown, loved the first few boxes but the novelty wore off a bit. That said I’ve always bought something from each box and loved trying new brands (Part Two, Sugarhill Brighton, Select Femme). Will quite miss it.

Never liked stitchfix to be honest, don't think I was in the market for them and a size 18 mid 30s but it just didn't work for me.

gorillalala · 26/08/2023 09:14

Oh no! I like stitch fix, hadn't used it in a while due to pregnancy / post baby body etc, but planned to in the future.

Similar to PP I enjoyed discovering different brands that fit me well and I liked the style of.

Gutted !

ClarkWGriswaldd · 28/08/2023 23:49

I've had a few good pieces from them! Decided to book a final one as a 70% discount for keeping all items is quite tempting, I believe it was 20% back when I last had a fix a few years ago.

ChipshopPickledEgg · 29/08/2023 17:24

I randomly decided to do one more box as 70% off seems to make things reasonable

Salacia · 29/08/2023 18:02

I ordered a box but have had my money refunded, anybody else had similar? Wondering if they can’t fulfil the last rush of orders (presume they’re clearing stock so only have limited options available?).

ClarkWGriswaldd · 29/08/2023 18:32

@Salacia funnily enough, they haven't taken any money off me. It's usually the tenner fee you pay isn't it?

So I've had the slot confirmed but now I check, no money taken, so I can't see them fulfilling tbh

I have used Stitchfix for years. But there's a part of me that's just not surprised they're folding - things have deteriorated a lot. For example, my main reason to love them was trying new brands etc but I found increasingly all the clothes were their own brands. I didn't even mind their own brands - a lot of the clothes were quite nice and fit me well - but I found getting a box with 4 or even 5 items all their own was annoying.

Also, there was something weird with the stylist/algorithm so I went from getting a lot that I really liked to often finding tings that I just hated and had said so many times. eg I don't wear high necks. But most boxes sent one. I consistently asked for colour (and previous purchase history would show that I BUY colour) and yet I'd get box after box filled with white, grey and black. I once asked for a casual jacket that wasn't denim and not only did I get a smart jacket, it was a jacket I'd purchased, from Stichfix, the year before!!

I am planning to try Lookerio to see what they're like. I like the principle so happy to give it a bash with someone else.

Cyclingmummy1 · 29/08/2023 19:40

I booked at the weekend and the earliest slot available was Sept 14! My husband, on the other hand, is having his delivery on Sept 4th. They've not credited his sign up fee to me either. Let's see what happens over the next couple of weeks.

Same! I’ve also tried lookeiro and that threw up the same uninspiring stuff.

SirVixofVixHall · 29/08/2023 19:50

I tried a few boxes but they seemingly paid no attention to my preferences at all, and so I didn’t keep anything. There was one dress I liked but it was in a colour from the season before so it seemed a total cheek selling it at full price.
My boxes looked like a sale rail at TK Max .

I emailed to ask and they confirmed that it had been cancelled ‘for some reason’. They asked if I wanted to un-cancel but I’ve said I’m happy to leave it (bit of an impulse buy and I really should be saving money!).

Thanks for starting this thread OP. I used a referral and got my 1st box and just kept a couple of things that were a bargain at 50%. I then ordered another interim box and love it all so will be a massive bargain at 70%. Can I ask though about the Liverpool Jeans from people that already have them. I love the shape of the ones they sent but they are absolutely massive. Wondering if they have sent me US sizes as you could fit 2 of me into them. Just wondering what size to exchange for
