Jewelry Cleaning

Not sure if S&B is the best place for this or not. But, here goes.

I have a shiny new ultrasonic cleaner for my jewelry.

I also have some lovely silver jewelry that is so tarnished its almost black. I think that the cleaner with water alone will not do the job.

Does anyone clean their jewelry with an ultrasonic cleaner and if so do you add any detergent to help with the tarnish.

Bowl lined with foil, shiny side up, teaspoon of bicarb, put in jewellery and add boiling water, take out jewellery when it stops fizzing and rinse. I've always used this method after my granny taught me, never had to use a brush or any other fancy tools and always comes out beautifully sparkly
