What is going on with see-through trousers?

On a day out yesterday I saw about six women with fully see-through trousers, and not just leggings or cycling shorts - pale-coloured semi-tailored trousers too. What is going on? Are manufacturers skimping on fabric weight to save costs?

Before I get jumped on: no, I do not walk around staring at women's bottoms. These were directly in front of me. No, I did not tell them and perhaps it would have been the sisterly thing to do so but they were all in groups with other women who looked like family members who would have been able to tell them (I have caught up with solo women before now to warn them that they have their skirt tucked in their knickers / have loo roll stuck to their shoe etc).

Anyway. Wondering if anyone else has noticed this and sharing the information as you may want to get a trusted friend to check your rear view in bright sunlight for your next pair of trousers!

Maybe it's the next step from "up your bum" flesh coloured leggings. See through trousers. Not seen it but will look out.

I don't think they were intentionally see-through - I know what you mean about the up-your-bum honeycomb leggings.

I've seen this too, I don't know how they couldn't know to be honest so I expect it's the look at the moment. I'm obviously behind the times for fashion, gladly too lol

I will say I've not seen this spwcificall but I can see how it can happen and someone not be aware. Light coloured trousers are having a bit of a moment and in bright light everything is much harder to hide. I think you could easily put something on inside and think you're fine and then find out differently in sunlight.

Maybe people just care less than they used to too, I wouldn't want my underwear visible through trosuers but I've certainly gone put with it visible through my top and don't feel overly bothered by that. Not sure why it feels different!
