Hi all

i am in desperate need of help!

i have been using mascaras for YEARS (15years). Same brand
suddenly I have become allergic to them all. Eyes swollen, itch, little spots, watery. At it’s worse I can’t even open my eyes fully when it’s swollen.

tired a clean new mascara (my usual one), after googling tried clarins, then Clinique + primer, all failed so went for less known brand le Roche posay. same story.

it’s really getting me down. I use to wear mascara every day. Any CLEAN mascaras out there? (All the hypoallergenic or sensitive ones seem to cause the same issue) .

or how has anyone found out what they are actually allergic to? They have so many ingredients it’s almost impossible to compar

You could try Natorigin; it's the only one I can use. They sell it on Amazon, but it's not waterproof though.

Hello have you tried Boots Natural collection
It's the only one I can use.

Try downloading the Yuka app also it will help you pinpoint the allergens

Do you use any tool on the lashes before applying mascara by any chance? I had an allergy recently to mascara, did the same as you with buying new ones and etc but no luck. Then I realised I use my curvex prior the mascara, so I changed the rubber piece and started using sterile wipes on it every time before putting on my lashes and bingo, allergy gone!

Sorry pressed post too soon by accident. But yes, in my case turned out it wasn't the mascara at all but some bacteria on the curvex that the mascara was spreading all over my lashes. I tried different mascara again, and my usual ones and had no allergy anymore since I started cleaning the curler.

Could dye your eyelashes periodically? They do a test first to check you’re not allergic to that. There are also home kits. I realise this is not going to help if you use mascara for volume etc rather than colour …

I have exactly the same problem. All of a sudden allergic to all eye make-up, but especially mascara. Eyes swell up so much I can’t see.
Tried a few different options - including some sensitive ones from Butterflies Eyecare that were no good.
Best success I’ve had so far is the Victoria Beckham tubing mascara but it’s really expensive and not waterproof or even tear proof, which is useless if your eyes water all the time.
I started keeping a spreadsheet of ingredients to see if I could pinpoint the ingredient I was allergic to, but it wasn’t very enlightening.

Is it the mascara or your remover? I can only wear washable ones so I don't need remover. L'Oréal Panorama or Maybelline colossal are good.

I have the same issue but am fine with Dior mascaras.
