Autumn boot thread

I love this time of year. I live in Birkenstocks all summer and by August I start thinking wistfully of new boots. Couldn't justify a new pair last year, but I'm starting a new job in September that will have me on my feet a lot, and doing some work outside, so I think it's time for new boots 🥰

Hoping to get a pair that looks good with cropped, wide leg jeans as I've got a few pairs but can only really pair them with sandals at the moment.

I'm stalking the Solovair website, I've got some dealer/Chelsea boots from them which I love, but want something that comes a little higher up my ankle. Are Dr Marten style lace ups still acceptable? Is anyone else up for a spot of boot shopping?

Those green boots are lovely! I’m debating finally getting myself a pair of duo boots to fit the footballer calves my grandmother blessed me with. I love these but so expensive 😭

Dr Martens lace ups are a classic. I like them with the cropped wide-leg as you describe, with a chunky sock over the top of the boot.

I am looking for boots to wear with knee length skirts/dresses. Part of me says the Solovair dealer or derby boots would look great (I don't do mainstream fashion generally) but my legs are on the larger side. I've always thought ankle boots with dresses work well for slim legs but think they might make larger legs look even larger due to cutting off above a slim ankle (if that makes sense).

@Pinkprescription that’s exactly the issue I have. My ankles are very slim but my calves very curvy so if I cut off in the wrong place my legs look chunky and stumpy.

My Duo knee high boots are 13 years old and still looking good...they were £200 then!

Go for the dealer boots @Pinkprescription , I love mine, have had them for 4 years and they're still great. The gaucho leather gets better with time. I'm not particularly willowy either...
