Hi all
It's a while since i went to a festival/ concert. I've been invited to sandringham this weekend to an outdoor music Festival type thing.

Something suitable for the weather - I'd probably wear a mini dress, black tights and Doc Martens with some sort of jacket but then I'm a lot further north than you. Is it a concert (mainly seated, decent flooring) or a festival (wandering between stages on grass)? That will dictate your footwear

Thanks @Possimpible
Is more a festival
I like your idea...i wasnt sure about tights or not as it might be sunny during day

D’you want a specific festival outfit or clothes you can incorporate into your everyday Autumn wardrobe?

And is there a ‘vibe’ (Blush) that you’d want to hook into? … Just had a look - is it one of the Heritage Live concerts? Lots of big names but I’m guessing a more conservative clientele than some other festivals?

It's a one day event with no overnight stays unless you've booked a caravan or campervan pitch. It's not Glastonbury or Glyndebourne so far as dressing up or making a style statement.

You'll be sitting on the ground or standing. I'd wear one of my longish, midi, but not maxi prairie dresses, flat lace up boots, either with socks or a thin denier opaque tights and Barbouresque or other waterproof jacket (the type I had in Iceland would do) and stick a jumper and or scarf in a bag in case it gets cold.

I said a dress, because that's what I normally wear- I'm not suggesting a dress because it's a festival. If jeans or chinos are your everyday wear, wear them. Do you go to agricultural county fairs? If so, wear what you'd wear to them.

I assume it's either Van Morrison, Robbie Williams or The Who. The FAQs are the same for all three.

I would dress for the weather and avoid wide legged trousers, maxis and midis. The portaloos at these events can get messy.

Take rainwear if required.

I agree, although I would wear a dress. I don't think it's a "make a special effort" event.

What's the forecast? I was at one last weekend where the weather was warm and we were in t-shirts till 09.30, then for the last half hour it went really cold plus the heavens opened for the last 10 mins.

I swear by linen shorts and a t-shirt along with trainers or well worn in Docs. If you’re going to be out in the sun all day make sure your shoulders are covered and you’re wearing plenty of sun cream because it’s very easy to get quite badly burnt without realising it - even at 4 or 5pm (I know this from bitter experience!). A hat is a good idea. It can get very cool on the evening so bring a warm jumper or sweatshirt. A shawl or a scarf is also a useful item for wrapping round yourself or someone who has inevitably forgotten their jumper and you can use it as a blanket to sit on or keep your knees warm. You could also bring a waterproof poncho or pacamac
