Help! Aveda Inner Light Foundation Discontinued!

I've been using Aveda Inner Light Mineral Dual Foundation (Honey shade) for the past 25 years and have just found out it's been discontinued. I'm panicking now!

I tried some others in my mid 20s to try and save some money but nothing ever came close to it's excellent coverage, colour match and ease of application.

I know it's a long shot but has anyone ever found anything similar? Or can anyone recommend a cream to powder foundation for combination skin that has given them amazing results? Thank you!

OMG! I’m the same. Just found out. Did you find a good alternative?

Funnily enough, I tried my first experiment yesterday after weeks of research. I'd seen Jane Iredale recommended as a clean brand with good coverage so bought their mineral cream powder foundation and gave it a go. It was pretty good! I don't think it was as good as the Aveda though - that's my holy grail! I've got one box of it left and I'm going to save it for my wedding next year!!

Lots of people have said that formulations have come a long way in 25 years and that I'd be amazed by some of the new stuff. I'm not holding my breath! The new one definitely didn't last as long as the Aveda.

If you find anything decent please let me know!

Hi Vanillarose1, I am in the same boat with foundations. I am almost out of my Aveda stockpile. I am curious what color you used when trying the Jane Iredale minieral cream foundation?

Vanillarose1 · 17/10/2023 06:52

Haha I have tried lots! Bought some samples from Skinmaze. My favourite so far is between honey bronze and golden glow. Latte was too Oompa Loompa for me and amber was just a touch too light. I've become quite the connoisseur! I've got suntan on the way as a last resort.

I'm getting on quite well with it. My skin is quite oily so I've also ordered a powder to try on the top - I didn't need this with the Aveda. I like that the Jane Iredale is cleaner than the Aveda but it's just not quite as good! Still, from all the research I've done I don't think I'll find better and it's so expensive to experiment!

Aaaaaaah! Just discovered the terrible Aveda news and came across your thread. Going to give the Jane Iredale a go. Will get some samples. Thanks so much for the info on that as I really didn't know where to start!

No problem! I'm still getting on well with the Jane Iredale and have settled on Honey Bronze for everyday use. It doesn't last as long without reapplying so I save my precious Aveda for special occasions and long days! I've got one unopened one left that I will save for my wedding next year!
