Hi I'm 49 and I've just had a laparotomy to take a biopsy. I have a 4 inch scar from my belly button up towards my chest. I'm 5ft and I've put on some weight through being inactive and Im probably now a size 14. Im Apple shape and don't have much of a waste. Anyway I'm really struggling to find comfortable flattering clothes. I can't wear high wasted jeans as they irritate my scar so I've been living in leggings. Help me find so nice affordable clothes please

Commiserations …

Beyond Nine has the sort of clothes that should be comfortable, though it depends on what affordable means to you.

Thanks I've had a quick look but I think they will be too long. I really need petite ranges as I'm tiny

If you’re not already, use 3m micropore tape on your scar line. It’ll help with keeping it unbothered and healing it flat. I had a FDL tummy tuck in April and this was the advice I was given. I’ve unfortunately just had my FDL portion reopened for an emergency laparotomy last week as well, so I’m re-healing the scar again, although mine is between my boobs down past my belly button. It had healed really well, so fingers crossed it’ll do the same now. I have no issues with high waisted jeans - I wonder if it’s because the scar is protected? I’ll be taping for 8 weeks.

I hope you are recovering well from your surgery. Nobody has ever mentioned using tape. I'll definitely get some thanks

I am thanks hope you are too ❤️ it’s not common over here, but it makes such a big difference to the healing.
