Hi, I'm attending Chester Races and need outfit help please. I've never been before and it's a corporate day in the swanky bit, totally out of my normal jeans and Docs comfort zone.

Was thinking of wearing this dress but for no idea if it will be suitable. Also unsure of what jacket to wear because of the sleeves. Help!

Don't really want to buy something I'll never wear again and this a Vinted bargain.

And will the shoes be ok? They are wedges as I wasn't sure wha the ground will be like

I have this jacket in black and blue because it manages to be fitted and boxy and have a swing to it and fit ridiculous sleeves. I bought the blue to wear with a long cotton dress with sleeves similar to the ones on your dress. I sort of wrap the sleeves loosely round themselves and put jacket on.

The shoes are wrong - not sure what to suggest, but they're not right. If it were me I'd wear yellow or bright green or blue (is it blue or black on the dress?) ballet flats with that dress.

Sorry I know everyone gets a fit of the vapours if tights are mentioned but bare legs rarely look great, especially in a formal situation. I think you need flat or flattish closed shoes and very good sheer tights.

The dress is pretty although it doesn't have a great deal of "wow" to it and the black sandals drain "wow" out of it.
