Have you had it?

What do you think?

I don't know what you mean OP

ZolaBudd · 18/08/2023 18:57

its when you get a colour ( eek) tattooed onto your lips.

enhances shape

I’ve seen lots of bad looking ones so I’d stay well clear. Even the ones that look
good only look that way with other makeup on to balance your face. If you’ve still got to put makeup on everyday then what’s the point? Lipstick is one of the quickest parts!

ZolaBudd · 18/08/2023 19:00

Yes, i hear you,
I was thinking just a slightly stronger lip colour, not like bright red

I have a thin and colourless mouth.

I've been thinking about this and eyebrow tattooing for years (I'm pale) but I've seen so many bad examples that I've never talked myself into it.

EllaPaella · 18/08/2023 21:29

I would consider this as I don't wear lipstick but like to wear a tinted lip balm everyday. Interested to learn a bit more about it.

TortelliniTart · 18/08/2023 21:45

Also considering. I wear lipstick every day and would still do so, I think. But no matter what brand of lipstick you use, you have to reapply. Just wondered if it would look good for when the lipstick wears off. I only feel like myself even wearing lipstick, it’s totally my look.

WineIsMyCarb · 18/08/2023 21:48

I've just had it done. Very very natural colour. Stressed this at my appointment and so she did it very subtly, over two sessions in the end as I felt the first one wasn't quite strong enough on the cupids bow.

Both of these pics are totally make up free.

I've had lips and brows done and I'm very happy with the results.
I'm in bed now but happy to post pictures tomorrow if anyone wants me to.
I'll be honest my lips were quite painful and took four attempts as they just wouldn't take the colour, but we got there in the end. And thank god for face masks. The swelling was horrendous, like a really bad trout pout but the swelling only last a couple of hours.
Eyebrows were a doddle, painless and done in one session.

TortelliniTart · 18/08/2023 22:57

Very nice @WineIsMyCarb and yes please to pics of yours @TimeForBedSaidZebadee
I have also been thinking about brows.

BadBadDecisions · 18/08/2023 22:59

My friend had it done and found it incredibly painful, and it didn't make enough of a difference that she felt it was worth it.

adultchildofalcoholicparents · 19/08/2023 10:58

@TimeForBedSaidZebadee Yes, please. I'd like to see the pics. And some idea of the pricing. I've never had much of a mouth but as I get older and paler it's just getting more invisible.

Middleagedmeangirls · 19/08/2023 12:31

I've had it. Love it. If you suffer from cold sores take an oral anti viral for a few days before and after.

Has anyone known someone who had a botox lip flip on their mouth? (I only heard about it on MN recently.)

SuperheroBirds · 19/08/2023 13:49

I’ve had mine done, and I love it. I have always had pale thin lips, but didn’t want the risk of trout pout that comes with fillers. I’d given up on finding a long lasting lipstick that didn’t smear or flake.
I first had my lips blushed 3 1/2 years ago, and I had them topped up after 2 years. It hurts quite a lot (I have also had my eyebrows micro bladed and found that to be a doddle in comparison). But, a couple of hours of pain for a few years of beautiful lips is totally worth it to me.
I don’t bother with any other makeup for most of the week, and don’t think they look out of place. Mine are pink rather than red. And if you are worried about it looking “fake”, my dentist was really close to me (obviously) and said she was doing her best not to smudge my lipstick, so even at close range I don’t think it looks tattooed on!

Love the examples given and am tempted for the colour but I already have quite big lips and don't really want them to look any bigger - is it possible to have it done without this effect?
