Vinted scam sellers - how does that work?

Having spent probably too much time on Vinted, I have become a bit of an expert at spotting the scam sellers who don’t actually have the item to sell but who steal photos either from other sellers on Vinted or from other websites.

But I am just curious - how does the scam work? Because I thought that on Vinted money is only released to the seller once the buyer confirms the delivery?

I think there is a few ways but it mainly relies on the buyer not selecting "I have an issue" in time. Usually they send something so that it goes through the tracking system, but it will be say a plain t shirt instead of what you ordered. And if you don't click I have an issue within a day or so the order just gets processed and you cant do anything about it.

I have tried to resolve the serious scamming matter in Vinted but to no avail.

the scammers have control of vinted software & the buyer is unable to instigate a complaint procedure or request to withhold the funds, until the scammer/thief has transferred the money- at that point Vinted inform the victim that they are to blame for delay in contacting them - but the victim is unable to contact as their transaction with scammer is disabled.

Vinted will not release the thief’s bank account details nor explain how the scammers m/thieves disabled the software.

ive asked for management and security but so far have not been redirected.

people are starting to question vinteds honesty as they are currently enablers.

Despite raking in multi millions vinted has not invested in software to identify duplicated or suspicious listings - which are easy to spot.
