Alternative to L’Oréal casting crème iced latte

I’ve been using this semi permanent home dye since lockdown begin and it’s suddenly impossible to get hold of, I’ve tried the dark blonde in the same range and it’s just not as nice nor does it cover the greys as well. Can anyone recommend a similar alternative from a different range?

tia.

Ditto…really need to find an alternative…wonder if its been discontinued and WHY!??? 😩

Margoliciously · 25/09/2023 15:26

Hello fellow sufferer! It’s infuriating isn’t it? All the other shades are still easy to get hold off but this one seems to have disappeared from the shops overnight. Have you found a decent alternative?

I ended up getting 700 and found that it was close enough to the 713. It had to do as I was going on holiday the next day and needed to cover the grey! Tbh think I need to go down the permanent route as after a few days of washing my hair every day with being abroad the grey is back 🫣

Margoliciously · 26/09/2023 13:15

The 700 definitely doesn’t cover as well or as long as the 713 for me. I don’t really want to go permanent though as it really affects my hair. I need to find another semi permanent that does as good a job without being too dark

I contacted them about this and this is the reply

Thank you for getting in touch with us today.

I’ve had a look for you and believe that this is a stock issue because it is not listed as being discontinued. This is currently a very popular product & whilst I’m not able to provide you with an ETA but would suggest keeping an eye on the product page, where available retailers will show once stock returns:

I'm afraid we do not have an exact alternative at the current time.

We do have the Casting Creme Gloss 613 Iced Mocha Brown which has the same undertones but in a level darker - https://www.loreal-paris.co.uk/casting-creme-gloss/613-iced-mocha-brown-semi-permanent-hair-dye?utm_source=limitless&utm_medium=llm&utm_content=f929573f-5cbd-4ca3-8970-942dde462d16

Thanks,
Lois

They're re-packaging the Casting Creme Gloss so maybe it will come back in the shops soon.
Have you tried Savers? They often have older stock and I know they do that range

NatC2 · 26/09/2023 21:52

I tried my local Savers but no joy 😕

Blossomandbee · 27/09/2023 10:23

Sad looking on Superdrug it looks like they're phasing out the Casting Creme Gloss and it's now in new packaging and called Casting Natural Gloss. There isn't a 713 Iced Latte under the new name, the closest is 700 Dark Blonde or 723 Almond Blonde

Harri313 · 14/01/2024 14:39

This was my perfect colour and now I’ve messed my hair up trying others! It went to warm and dark so I’ve had to get highlights to remove the warmth, I’m so so sad about this. Please if anyone finds a good alternative let me know I’m desperate for this colour to come back

Margoliciously · 16/01/2024 11:39

The 723 Almond blonde in the new range is closest I’ve found. Its a bit too ashy initially but that wears off quickly though so I’m calling this as the next best thing to the old much missed iced latte
