Saw this Ba&SH skirt and really liked it but way over budget. It is really too long but could get it taken up. What do you think? Thanks 🙏

It doesn’t look £235 worth. You would then have to pay ££ to have it taken up and I’ve just done a Google search and Shein have some with a very similar pattern.

Sorry, but it‘s just not that nice. Far too long and the material looks cheap - the pattern doesn’t even line up on the seams! Return it. You can find something nicer.

Sorry, but I can't see the appeal nor who it would flatter? It gives off a 70's commune, hippy, free love type vibe. If you love it, go for it, but for that price, you could buy 100's of viscose table cloths and have them tailored into a very similar skirt.

Well thanks a bunch, @Birdsongsinging! This thread has led me down such distant rabbit holes and caused me to fall in love with so many things I didn’t know I wanted. Two hours squandered before I even got out of bed. All because I was looking for alternative skirts on alternative sites. I’m now in severe danger of buying my first ever jumpsuit. (I am strong; I will resist.) And a silk dress. And maybe even some ‘sneakers’.

@Galiana - so many La Double J things remind me, ecstatically, of the clothes my mother wore in the 70s on the rare nights my sibling and I were left with a babysitter. The annual dinner dance at my father’s work, a night out with their friends, even maybe a reunion with people she trained with. Such glamorous and yet easy clothes, intended for actual grown ups …
