here’s a thread about getting ourselves together, getting [a bit of] a glow on, and learning the grooming habits we were never taught and never learned.

Well-groomed women, you are welcome to drop in and share your secrets too! :-)

Well done on the weight loss @Libelula21 !

I have been managing well with some things and not others. I did 10 days in a row of daily yoga and then fell off the wagon- the problem is the best time to fit it in is if I get up early before the baby, but it’s so cold and miserable at the minute that when my alarm goes off I just hit snooze and snuggle in for a bit longer.

I’ve been doing my skincare routine quite regularly though and DH complimented me on my outfits so progress!

Just realised I’ve got this thread mixed up with the Princessing one I have open in another tab 😂so still well done but the update on my yoga doing probably a bit irrelevant

I am so pleased to have found this thread - and must take time to read through the other with a cuppa! I have been feeling so miserable and scruffy lately. I used to always make an effort but I find everything so exhausting just now (and that is without kids!) There is just so much going on between us both working, running a small business on the side of a full time job, dogs, family life etc etc I find my hair gets scraped up in a claw clasp daily and I can't remember when I last shaved or tanned - which used to be non negotiables for me. Sounds a bit vain but i do feel a bit down and "ugly" about my lack of self care recently. However I have a hair app for the weekend and will fit my eyebrows in. my favourite nail polish had dried out so I have bulk ordered on Amazon! I have also been doing short you tube workouts in the Morning as I have put on some weight and as I lost my dog suddenly at the start of the year am finding it difficult to make myself get out walking regularly (but I am going to try and get back into that)

Things I find help are a little bit of nail polish. I just use the french manicure base (I don't do white tips just the base colour all over) so it is barely a colour but enough to give a wee tint and shine and I think it makes them look tidier

When my hair (roots) are up to date and eyebrows done I feel better

I got a lovely little make up pouch for Christmas which was hand made using a vintage tablecloth which I love so I have put some essentials in that to have in my bag at all times - lip balm, mini perfume, comb, tissues and glasses so no excuses (for some strange reason I enjoy watching those videos of what people carry in their handbags - am I the only one that watches these????)

wearing perfume and earrings helps me feel a little better too.

I do need to get out of the habit of wearing lounge sets.... because I am WFH it seems pointless getting "dressed dressed" but then I watch some of the old romantic films I enjoy and think that those poised and elegant ladies would never have that attitude haha!

I am trying not to put too much pressure on myself and just take small steps at a time - same with in regards to keeping on topof the house! I try and do 2 small jobs each night to keep on top of it. I am enjoying reading everyones experiences and tips here :)
