I keep planning to look more stylish - and then I forget. Last week I went out wearing a band t-shirt very bright midi skirt and trainers (not fashionable ladylike white trainers) and was with someone who looked very chic.
I never seem to manage chic/grown up.

I’m 51 and my style and taste has changed completely to what it was in late teens/early 20s black, navy and odd bit of white.

I love and suit brighter colours now but had a revelation on Saturday that a white ribbed vest top worn with jeans and white/silver knockoff Chanel trainers looked really good (tanned). I did add a cheap orange small beaded necklace. The previous night I’d worn a peach/apricot and sky blue floral colour Arket top with same jeans and trainers and vintage orange/yellow/blue floral earrings. Popped around to my DM’s to drop something off and she commented how nice I looked!

i also love casual wear (thank you lockdown!) so sweatshirts, jeans, jeggings and trainers are now on my love list.

I do like dresses and skirts and suit them (pleated ones) and if I see something I like and can afford I generally buy it. Last was vintage cornflower and white blue wool pleated midi skirt.

I didn’t have many clothes as a child or teenager though and even with my first couple of jobs didn’t spend a lot (but always got quality, sometimes designer) so have made up for that a lot since!
