Wedding Ring

I’m getting married in October and have found this ring on Etsy. I love it so much. I also don’t want to spend a lot on the wedding as we’ve been together a long time already.

Does this work as a wedding band? I can get it either with real emeralds or green cubic zirconias - the cost increases from £48 to just under £100. Which one would you go for? How much would you be able to tell?

I'd go for real emeralds in a wedding ring. I'm not sure how durable it will be though - it is very pretty but looks delicate to wear every day

Hmm I had not considered emeralds chipping thank you. I need a thin band really as I have tiny fingers and anything much meatier looks daft. I also like this ring but it may also suffer from being too delicate?

Emeralds are very fragile.

The plain band is nicer.

Neither of these look substantial enough, they are very delicate and attractive, though. I don’t take my wedding ring off, I have a slim d shaped gold ring, very plain. Still looks as good as it looked 29 years ago. It wasn’t particularly expensive, but decent quality.

It's very pretty - much nicer than a traditional wedding ring.

I have a couple of rings set with emeralds, including my "not a wedding ring" wedding ring. Neither of them have chipped, although I don't wear either of them all the time.

The emerald one is very pretty but not a wear everyday ring. I think you need something a bit more sturdy for a wedding band. I have tiny fingers and have a 2mm platinum band. It is really thin but strong.
