I’m curious and debating starting tret but having done a few searches on here all I’ve found is people struggling with it - dry patches and redness months after starting.
Is it really worth this? Does anyone have anything positive to say about it and it actually works well?
I want it for fine lines under and around eyes mainly and to correct a bit of sun damage. I just can’t decide whether to take the plunge, my skin can be quite dry anyway.

You could always just try an over the counter retinol, which would give some good results. It may not be as effective as tretinoin, but also has far less irritation.
In time, if you wan to move up to tretinoin then you could try it - some people don't have a really bad reaction. I had a few months of bad peeling and redness, it was pretty awful but I started in winter and had a scarf up around my face in work, claiming I was cold.

I feel it's been worth it, but for many people it isn't. The problem is you don't really know how long it's going to last.
