Laser hair removal- patchy pre hols?

I had a patch test for laser hair removal on my bikini line on 11 July. Didn’t hurt, thought no more of it but planned to start a block of 6 sessions later in the year when I can afford it.

However, this week I was amazed to see the decent size patch test they did is now completely devoid of hair.

I go on holiday in 3 weeks and would usually do a Brazilian wax, but I despise them as they’re so painful.

I’m now tempted to go and have one session of laser done before holiday in the hopes it does the job of a wax- I know it’s unlikely but if you did laser hair removal how much hair did you lose on the first round?

If I decide to do it then I have to shave which means I won’t have a pre-holiday wax and I’ll be so annoyed if I end up patchy and itchy on my holiday if I hedge my bets on one round of laser!

I'd say I had about a 50%-60% reduction after one session. It's magic.

If you are going to do it before hols do it sooner rather than later as the skin needs to calm down before it's exposed to the sun (obv the bits outside the bikini ha!)

For both my underarms and bikini line I was AMAZED at how little regrowth there was in the first month before I had my second session. But I only ever shave not wax (don’t do Brazilian either, just tidy the edges) so I didn’t face your dilemma.

I'd go for the laser too. I agree I had a 60% reduction after one session too, couldn't believe how good it was.

Had my sessions 2 years ago now and never had to top them up or anything.

Mine definitely need a top up now though and its only 6 months since I had my sessions. I have just bought an IPL machine as I can’t justify the ongoing cost of the salon.

They told me it depends on your skin tone and darkness of hair. I'm pale with black hair so it worked fab on me.

Amazing- I’m pale with dark hair so I’m hoping I see the results you’re all suggesting!

I don’t expect to be bald but definitely a significant reduction so I don’t have to go through the horrendous pain of a wax, I literally dread it so much. I’d rather laser my bumhole (ahem) than wax.

and yes @watyawant thanks for tip- going to go tomorrow so have 3 weeks for it to calm down, will be covered from sun too!
