Help me look cool not frumpy at this weeding!

You're so good at this; have marvelled at your sartorial help for years but this is my first "find me an outfit please" thread.

Wedding guest - afternoon church through to evening do with dj.

I'm mid fifties. 5 7, have always been a size 10 but edging to a 12. Big boobs, but now bigger tummy. I'm a sort of inverted triangle cross hourglass, but slowly moving towards Apple!!! No hips really, strong shoulders and I do have a waist above my big floppy tummy.

Like my legs, shoulders, boobs if covered (no cleavage as very sun damaged), don't like showing my upper arms (flabby) and my tummy is really out of proportion so nothing tight there.

My normal style is quite relaxed and I guess cool/quirky so I can't really see me in kitten heels and a very girly dress. I'm trainers, docs, birkies footwear wise!

In years past I've worn trouser suits to a wedding, a long sleeved short funky dress with killer heels, but I'm not sure I can get away with the latter now.

The only thing in my wardrobe I thought about was a mid length green satin long sleeved dress and some hasbeens, but I'm not sure if that's quite wedding enough.

I was hoping for some inspiration here... not sure if that's enough to do on but ... fingers crossed!

Budget as low as possible, but I would spend more if it's something that I could wear again.

Thank you Smile

How much money, exactly?

And might you consider renting?

This Massimo Dutti outfit looks really fresh - though they only seem to have the skirt at the moment. Both together would be great, or the skirt could be worn with a beautiful deep yellow heavy silk shirt. Very much something where either part could be worn repeatedly in normal life, dressed up or down.

(And, of course the great thing with separates is that you can buy different sizes to fit upper and lower body.)

(Sorry! I’m doubting the skirt after re-reading your OP. Maybe the leather shirt over a looser dress / skirt?)

I’d go for a jumpsuit, with a pattern, that can be worn dressed up with heels for the daytime then with nice trainers for dancing the night away!
Patterned is better for disguising bits you want disguising, an also hiding any stains you may get throughout the day. Plain will show up every lump, bump and spilled drink!

Yikes. Hmmmm... happy to be as cheap as possible. Would spend up to maybe £250 if it's something I'd wear again ... but open to offers

Oh I should have added... I don't really wear leather (sorry)

However that is cool, and I love the colour! So something that shape and style might work and wouldn't have been something I thought about! I actually suit pencil type skirts if I can hide my belly. Have skinny legs that suit that shape...

Jumpsuit is a good idea.

To complicate things I'm really high wasted so I have a large span from groin to waist... this is something I like without clothes, am nipped in under my boobs, but I have a lifetime of issues finding trousers that don't, ahem, camel toe.

Highwaister trousers are best for me and flattering, I love jumpsuits and du agrees but often they have this issue for me! And if I size up they then look shapeless.....
