Foundation rut - what can I try?

Used Max Factor Facefinity solid foundation for literally years but now early 50s & it seems to emphasis wrinkles now. I like its semi-matt finish & that I can apply it very lightly & where needed. My skin is good overall so don’t need thick coverage but need to even up a few areas. Have tried a few tinted moisturisers, primers, bb cream type things over the years, but I hate the heavy feeling on my skin - can’t stand feeling greasy/shiny especially on nose & forehead. I need an overhaul but don’t want to make expensive mistakes. Budget is mid-range. Any advice or suggestions welcome!!

Honestly I think foundation is one of the things it’s worth forking out a bit more money for. If you’re in easy reach of a big department store like Selfridges or Harvey Nicks I’d go have a pop round the counters, get colour matched and ask for samples to take home. I won’t buy foundation now unless I can do a proper test of it at home.

Nars Sheer Glow sounds like it might suit your needs but it’s such an individual thing that you’ve just got to try them all until you find one that ticks all your boxes.
