Make up/mascara for stupidly sensitive eyes

I wear makeup about once every 2 years but I have a proper fancy occasion coming up so would like to make a bit of an effort.
bought some new bits and had a practice run today and now I’m reminded why I don’t. My eyes are puffy, swollen, blurred, streaming and burning holes into my brain.

any suggestion what I could use that won’t cost £60 for one use and won’t make me want to pluck them out?

I can only wear No7 mascara. I use MAC pigment eyeshadow, no eyeliner, Bare Minerals powder foundation (can't wear any form of liquid foundation), Bare Minerals blush and bronzer. If my eyes are bad I use antihistamine eye drops before putting make up on, just in case. I suffer with dry eye so use a daily Hycosan eye drop as well.

Have you tried tubing mascara OP? It's really helped my sensitive eyes (history of lots of eczema on my face). Quite a few brands do it now - my favourite is probably Blinc.

I feel your pain, but I think it’s more about ingredients than price. So I am fine with superdrug own brand mascara, but recently spent an unhappy week recovering from a spendy hourglass eyeshadow. And Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon eyeshadow is fine but e.l.f is definitely not. If you can be arsed, this is a list of ingredients apps you could check?

Orherwise for me it really is trial and (frequently painful) error, sorry.

I have rosacea and can use Lily Lolo mascara.

Diorshow overcurl is the only mascara I can use. I feel like I have literally tried them all can only use certain eyeliners (my fave is a marc Jacobs which has just been discontinued) and creme eyeshadow. Nothing with glitter or sparkle.

Thanks. Have bought a Clinique one. If it hurts I’ll just give up

Tubing mascara, it stays on, but comes off very easily. It's the only mascara I can use.

I have rosacea and very sensitive watery eyes too. I can manage the Clinique waterproof mascara for occasions Can't do powder eyeshadow but the MAC creme paintpot ones are OK and I use them regularly.
