Trying to be more sexy

Most of my friends are avid thong wearers. I wish I was; but I'm not.

When I try to wear one, it's like my bum cheeks are trying to swallow the piece of string. I'm constantly un-picking myself.

Surely women don't walk around feeling this uncomfortable?

What's going wrong for me?

@greenteaandmarshmallows - never had that problem. Sizing between different shops is never that consistent anyway.

Flexi fit modal by M&S are amazing, they don't have a tiny string for your bum but I don't feel them at all - super comfy and soft

Thongs are horrible things, there is nothing sexy about a thong - there’s much nicer, more comfortable styles of knickers out there op!

I have no idea what underwear ‘most of my friends’ where, nor do I care.
Thongs are grim and should have stayed in 1998.

In the warm weather with a long summer dress l’m often without knickers at all 🤫.

lt’s only a summer sport though and no cartwheels.

Even after thorough wiping and cleaning I think thongs are still going to be germ infested smelly articles after a few hours of wearing them. Give me a lovely roomy granny pant any day.

My urogynaecologiat described them as “highways for bacteria” and I have never worn one since.

Someone I know needed surgery from an abscess from thongs with jeans. Pain excruciating and wound needed packing for months, gave up thongs

Yep I remember it well! I was 19 in 1999 and remember wearing the laciest bright thongs with the lowest cut flared jeans imaginable. Very much Britney Spears slave 4 u type look. I was a size 8 and it was very much the “look” of the time, coupled with a silver belly chain. I am now a 42 year old size 20, I don’t think I could pull it off 😆😳

My dd is now 19 herself and that look is definitely making a comeback.

Exactly.. It will be grim at the end of the day no matter how clean you are. I tried them and they were always uncomfortable, also feels weird to have my bum cheeks uncontained 😆

Oh, god. This has given me late 90s, early 00s whale tail flashbacks. I have steadfastly stuck to big knickers my whole life. Each to their own!

Why are posters acting like fabric covering your bum is so terribly strange when it's been what your bum has had covering it since birth it's only when women (or sadly girls) start dressing for the male gaze and to fit a 'sexy' stereotype that they start training their arseholes to withstand bum floss. I think with continued wear you either end up epilating the hairs there from it rubbing off every time you walk or your tender ass crack skin gets roughened up and used to the sensation but NATURAL to wear a thong is most certainly not actually true.

Don't thongs give you UTI.... and if I sized up one or TWO (?!) sizes up it will just fall down. I am realistic about my knickers size thank you very much, sizing up by 2 sizes shows how uncomfortable they are. The secret is just not to wear an unhygienic, trashy, porn inspired torture devices.

The ones that sit slightly across your bum cheeks are Brazilian knickers, not thongs.
