...thoughts?

OP posts:

I've got this and love it - it's a crisp cotton and was so airy and comfortable on a VERY hot trip to Italy recently https://www.albaray.co.uk/collections/animal-print/products/organic_cotton_animal_v_neck_midi_dress_ss23 I think it's well made, cut well, and thankfully, I had some JL gift vouchers towards the cost! I've worn it loads and it washes well

I have one of their Long dresses. The cotton is very nice and it doesn't need too much ironing.

MarciaSaysANumber · 01/08/2023 06:58

What are your thoughts, @summerdressing?

JofraArchersFastestBall · 01/08/2023 07:49

I've got the cropped wide leg jeans - love the style and I wear them a lot. Proper denim with no stretch (so they do come up small)

WhiskyTangoFoxtrot · 01/08/2023 07:55

I bought a midi dress earlier this year.

I didn't choose it for the brand as such. It was in John Lewis where there are all sorts next to each other - it just caught my eye. Nice print, normal sleeves, no ruches/flounces and fitted well when I tried it on.

Grimwood · 01/08/2023 10:14

I have a dress and a shirt jumper from them - seem really well made

PrimaniTu · 01/08/2023 10:22

Albaray's marketing department needs to try harder than this surely. Confused

My thoughts? Not for me thanks.

MutantTurtles · 01/08/2023 10:29

Is it that really cheap brand from markets?
i often see it in charity shops and think it looks overpriced

GettingStuffed · 01/08/2023 10:58

It sounds like a Chinese knock off brand. If it's really decent they need a new name.

JennyTheDonkey · 01/08/2023 11:06

I have a couple of cotton T-shirts and really like them, disappointed with the presence of synthetic fibres in their sweaters, dresses etc. so wouldn't but anything that wasn't natural fibres.

renovationheavenandhell · 01/08/2023 11:21

Only had jeans which I love but as somdeone else said they come up v v small i went up two sizes from my ususal high waist levis.

I think it is a street market brand?

Grimwood · 01/08/2023 12:34

Don’t think it’s a street market brand? Sold in JL and M&S and is relatively expensive?

The stuff I’ve seen is often 100% cotton.

CointreauVersial · 01/08/2023 13:31

Definitely not a street market/Chinese knockoff brand.

I have seen good reviews, and I like many of the styles but it's just a little bit above my price point, unless in the sale. Dresses around the £100 mark. I would say it's equivalent to Boden or Hush.

clowniform · 01/08/2023 13:33

Very hit and miss IME, the misses tend to be because of cheap, flimsy feeling fabrics. This in the sale was very nice IRL though and their knit top / woven skirt dresses (like these) are useful.

TheStarofCountyDown · 01/08/2023 13:57

I agree good, natural fabrics and reasonable price point for the quality. I find it true to size, verging slightly on the large side. Excellent customer service when I returned items (bought multiple sizes)

Divebar2021 · 01/08/2023 14:06

I didn’t know them and they’re a bit middle of the road for me style wise. Reading about them they’re a female owned brand who are trying to be sustainable so that’s a positive. I don’t think the prices look bad… we should be paying a decent amount for our clothes and they should be lasting more than one season.

Cinnamonandcoal · 05/08/2023 20:30

I have a coat and a shirt and I love both.

Supersimkin2 · 05/08/2023 20:44

Yes. Bought one dress, then another five after I liked the fabric and nicer-than-you-think-at-first prints.

No ironing nec to look smart. No polyester unless that’s your thing. Baukjen equivalent, but cheaper.

Knits are a no cos all artificial.

SuperPug · 05/08/2023 20:49

In my opinion, it falls into the slightly dowdy brands sold in John Lewis. Similar to Nobody’s Child etc.
John Lewis used to stock some nicer high end brands which seem to have disappeared.
