I will be in London later on this week and am looking forward to going into an actual Uniqlo store. There seem to be several branches of Uniqlo, so which is the best one to visit?

Covent Garden for sure

RampantIvy · 31/07/2023 17:12

Ooh thank you. I love a mooch around Covent Garden.

There are lots of really lovely shops around there, it’s great for a mooch.

Lunaballoon · 31/07/2023 18:26

The Oxford Street branch is much bigger than CG but there are branches all over so you should have plenty of choice.

WhereAreWeNow · 31/07/2023 18:29

There are 2 on Oxford Street. The one opposite John Lewis is the big one. There's also a pretty big one on Regents St. Haven't tried the new Covent Garden one yet.

Cleethorpes · 31/07/2023 19:35

The Battersea Power Station branch is nice too.

Bearpawk · 31/07/2023 19:37

I always go to the Oxford street one as it's huge. Do my holy trinity of uniqlo, muji and Arket in one hit 😂

EasyCosUrBeautiful · 31/07/2023 19:38

Can you actually afford anything in Arket then @Bearpawk ?!!

faustina · 31/07/2023 20:08

Might be worth checking if the Covent Garden branch has sale things if you plan to go to that one? I went to the Spitalfields store last week and they didn't have the one thing I definitely planned to buy (the very reduced cashmere)

RampantIvy · 31/07/2023 20:14

Thank you everyone. I might just go to the large Oxford Street one as I have other things plannef. My nearest one is Manchester which is a PITA to get to at the moment.

Another vote for the Battersea Power Station one. Their stuff is a disaster on me, as I'm too busty, but they had some lovely things.

Bearpawk · 31/07/2023 21:23

@EasyCosUrBeautiful Arket basics are great quality and not too pricey, I tend to get t shirts/ tops from there. Not much else fits me though in there.

EasyCosUrBeautiful · 31/07/2023 21:26

Oh are they @Bearpawk ? I’ll have to take a look. I have a gorgeous wool jumper I got from there in the sales but full price is a bit too much for me usually!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/07/2023 21:31

I really like Arket vest tops. Obviously a bit more than, say, H&M or M&S but infinitely better quality.

CalmDownBoris72 · 31/07/2023 21:32

And another for Battersea, it’s brilliant.

Bearpawk · 04/08/2023 21:35

Yeah @EasyCosUrBeautiful their dresses and wool etc can be super pricey but their basics are affordable!

hmrcwhatnow · 04/08/2023 23:11

if you get the little nylon bags you can have them embroidered with anything you like including a drawing you do yourself! probably everyone knew that but i don't have a local store and just saw it online last week so a bit jealous.

RampantIvy · 06/08/2023 08:48

Reporting back. I went to the Oxford street store and bought just one T-shirt. There was a coat that I thought would be perfect, but when I tried it on it just looked like a sack on me. I find most of the muted colours that they sell just don't suit me, which is a pity because I was looking for another merino wool jumper.

Those little bags were too small to be of any practical use to me. I have a bumbag that I could wear over my shoulder that will fulfil the same purpose should I need it.
