Dp and I have had a bit of a rough year, currently at the end of a miscarriage which seems to be going on for ages and we decided to cheer up our summer by getting married. (Talked about it for ages but couldn't decide on how big/small) so we called the registry office this morning and have booked for the last day of August. Very exciting. Just us and witnesses and my son, in the registry office and bbq in my garden afterwards. My mum can't come as she lives abroad and is sick, but she offered to buy me a dress. I love dressing up, and even though we have an understated day would love a nice dress. Problem is, I have a month, and I'm feeling fairly frumpy. I need ideas about what might look good. I'm 5 foot 2, 39, pale pale skin, and dark brown pixie cut hair. I'm usually a size 12 but currently holding a fair amount of middle weight (ate a lot of pizza when I was pregnant) and more like a 14. Will post some pictures of dresses I've liked so far, but would appreciate advice and ideas on making sure I don't just look frumpy/out of place. I like alternative/interesting things, but equally would be super happy with a well cut classic dress.
