Apple Watches are everywhere now; what watch to stand out?

Is it just me or are Apple Watches just seen on everyone now? I’ve had one since the very first one came out and worn it most day for years.

I’ve got one and I do enjoy some of the added features although mainly just the exercise bit and also pinging my phone when it’s lost (the best feature of it tbh 😏)

But what watch should I get now if I’ve got £250 to spend and I’m not interested in wearing my Apple Watch anymore? I can always just pop it on for exercising or dog walks.

I just want something a bit more elegant and grown up. I don’t like the Daniel Wellington ones as I’m a teacher and I don’t like the way the letters are back to front, crazy I know.

I agree they are everywhere and I have never seen the appeal.

On a budget of £250 you can get a lovely Seiko automatic.

I love my Nixon, it's an old model but similar to this https://uk.nixon.com/products/optimist-silver-mother-of-pearl

My favourite watch was a pretty traditional metal bracelet Baby G Shock solar powered watch but it went a bit haywire and I couldn't get anyone to fix it for love nor money.

Optimist - Silver / Mother of Pearl

With geometric details, polished finishes and a solar-cell, the Optimist women's watch in Silver / Mother of Pearl is here and her future is looking bright.

Spend it on a fabulous bracelet instead and use your phone or apple watch when you need to.

Swiss Mondaine watch would be my vote - I love mine. Simple and elegant. Here

I had been toying with getting an Apple Watch lately, but suddenly decided I didn't want another bloody device that had to be charged, and went for this instead, I love it: rotarywatches.com/products/rotary-greenwich-skeleton-automatic-gents-watch-gb0294006

I got one in silver and gold as I like to wear both, and got it on sale for a lot less. Had to have some links removed as it's a man's watch, but I really like the chunkiness of it.

Skagan watches are also nice.

Citizen make good watches in your price range. No need to change the battery.

Oh, and Holzkern watches are beautiful and very unusual - made of wood. www.holzkern.com/en-gb/shop/watches/women/wood.html

I have a bit of a "thing" for watches.

SmartHome · 01/08/2023 17:43

Can't you change the watch face on Apple smart watches? I have the Samsung Galaxy smartwatch and you can put one of 1000s of faces on it, including ones with big numbers that are legible and ones that make it look like a classic watch face. You can also get ones with more classic bezels and straps too.

Thank you for the suggestion @GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal one of my closest friends has one of those so I probably wouldn’t go for one. It looks amazing on her, though.
