Funeral dress

Traditional funeral for close family member, I need help to find a black dress that ticks all my boxes:

V neck (not too low or showing lots of skin), just below knee or midi length, long or three quarter length sleeves. I'm 5ft 7, size 10, almost flat chested but wide back so sometimes need a size 12 to fit the top but then the bottom part can be too loose and looks awful because it doesn't fit properly. Slightly stretchy fabric would be good.

Also ideas for shoes for someone who can't walk in high heels but needs some kind of heel with a dress.

I've ran out of places to look so really hope someone can help!

What's your budget?

Is this the right sort of thing, even if pricy?

Budget up to around £200. That dress is just what I'm looking for apart from preferring slightly narrower V neck to cover up too large collar bones. Will try it on and see.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

This could work?

Another question!
My neck and upper chest has a tendency to look scrawny now I'm over 50, would love some ideas for what kind of might distract or cover up a bit, bearing in mind not too flashy for a funeral.

meant to say what kind of necklace might distract...

A lightweight chiffony scarf in a muted colour?

HighlandGlenda · 30/07/2023 17:30

Ah! I'll keep looking...

A plain string of pearls or jet

Whataretheodds · 30/07/2023 17:38

Or a plain silk scarf in a not-too-jaunty fabric

HighlandGlenda · 30/07/2023 17:40

Do you mean you're needing to buy shoes (in which case, what's the max budget?), or just want advice about the best from what you already own?

Yes, need to buy shoes (tend to live in walking boots or trainers). I don't want my feet on display so sandals are out, black shoes or ankle boots with an easy to walk in heel might be good.
Budget up to £200.

That's lovely, I really like the collar, will order and see how it looks on me.
