Headband, fascinator, or something else?

I've ordered this dress for a wedding next month.

I'm not sure what to wear on my head. I feel like fascinators are a little dated, but perhaps they are actually a classic?

Not sure if I should wear one of those, or wear some kind of headband? I'll likely wear my hair up, as it doesn't hold a curl very well. If worn up, I could maybe just wear it with some fancy pins/clasp?

Any suggestions of what would look best, and recommendations in general?

Thanks.

I would just use some pretty pins to secure/decorate your updo. Possibly a narrow jewelled headband (the wide ones are so ubiquitous now and I like to go against the grain!). Or maybe do away with all of that and wear some fabulous earrings?

Definitely no to a fascinator.

That dress is such a lovely colour OP!

Pins or clasps in your updo will be pretty, it's such a delicate colour. On no account a fascinator, they're horrendous and that is the hill I will die upon.

This would actually look gorgeous with a small disc hat with a net.

This kind of thing (not black)

That second one is stunning!

I love headbands as a look but the wire ones dig in and give me a headache within 5 mins. I couldn't wear one to a wedding.

TaylorSwiftFan · 30/07/2023 11:35

I love a fascinator but they do seem less popular.

I think a gold based headband would be pretty to bring out the gold in the belt.

What colour is your shoes & bag?

headwear · 30/07/2023 11:48

Maybe statement earrings are enough.

I love these:

I have both silver and gold shoes/bag, but I'm thinking gold is the way to go?

I love some of the headbands suggested. I was thinking of the thin, jewelled type.

Also love the little veiled hat, but I'd feel odd wearing that to a wedding.

That dress is stunning! Never liked fascinators - always thought it looked like someone had a bird caught in their hair. If you are wearing your hair up I would concentrate in your jewellery bag and shoes, keep it simple and classy.

Maddy70 · 30/07/2023 12:39

I love that dress!

Yes I would wear a pretty hairslide or pins. Definitely not a fascinator
