Hair conditioning

Does anyone have any tips for a really effective nourishing hair conditioner that can be made from natural products? My hair is long and very thick, but I am moving into menopause and I have noticed the condtion has deteriorated. It is becoming more dry and dull and brittle at the ends, but gets greasy at the roots quite quickly. I have tried over the counter leave-in treatments, but nothing seems to be working. I would ideally like something that is natural and the ingredients are easy to find and inexpensive.

My advice would be to change brand of conditioner regularly. For me, at least, different conditioners seem to loose their oomph with regular use. Therefore when a bottle runs out I go for a different brand.

Try coconut oil, avocado or banana if you only want to use home made hair masks.

I’d consider getting a couple of good inches off the ends- nothing will actually repair dry brittle ends although products can smooth and coat them temporarily.

If you ever deviate from DIY hair treatments, I’d recommend Philip Kingsley elasticizer- it completely transforms the look and feel of my dry damaged hair.
