Please help, need leggings ( active or normal) with very high waist and no small band of elastic

I have a stomach condition (endometriosis/cysts/fibroids etc, all the joy!) And cannot have anything pressed on my tummy. So, I have to wear dresses all the time. I have one pair of Next Active running leggings that come up very high and have a soft band of about 4 inches at the top whichi can wear and nees more. I have just ordered some more from Next and they have changed the design and put a 1cm band of elastic round the top! So annoying. So please help, does anyone know of any leggings that would fir the bill? Preferably plain navy or dark green, but not black. Don't really want to spend more than £40 but will do of need to.

Have you looked at Lululemon? They are £££ but very comfortable and last forever.

I have H&M maternity leggings like this. They are super comfy when you’re not pregnant, and look just like normal leggings with a top over them.

I've got a couple of pairs from Primark which have a thick band of about 3 inches, not the most opaque but decent. They are a couple of years old though so they might not do them anymore.

Uniqlo airism leggings are very comfortable on the stomach and have no digging in elastic. High waisted and come in a variety of colours, in winter they do a version that keeps you warm.

Peacocks do a range of leggings. One of their styles has a more tailored panel which tapers in, rather than elastic, which might be suitable. They have them in several colours online, though I only ever see the black ones in my local store: https://www.peacocks.co.uk/4900810-chocolate-plain.html I have some and they do stay up.

Xposted with Turtlegurl. I think we are both talking about the same style.

I'm similar with endo.......I bought some cropped leggings from Primark a couple of months back and they're really good. Compared them to the material/style of their full length ones and they're the same. Really thick waist and not see through. I know it's Primark but.....

Weelegs29 · 29/07/2023 08:55

Very Confident Curve leggings, they have a panel for the waist and dont dig in at all so extremely comfortable. Not see through. Also come in petite length which is perfect for me at 5ft and they may do a tall version aswell but not 100% sure. They come in black, navy and grey. I threw all my other leggings out when I found these ones and now have at least 5 pairs on the go at all times!

Snag leggings

SausageRoll2020 · 29/07/2023 12:09

Sweaty Betty super soft or all-day leggings should fit the bill.
They are over your budget at full price but when in the sale or in an outlet store tend to be around £40ish. Obviously popular colours less likely to be reduced.

Lucy377 · 29/07/2023 12:29

Tesco have/had high waisted leggings like that with the gentle none-elastic top.

I also recommend the H&M Mamma maternity tights if you hate elastic waisted stuff! They do sheer and winter thick ones.

ReallySeriouslyNope · 29/07/2023 12:32

Tesco! My teenage daughter has sensory issues and will only wear very high waisted leggings with no tight band. Tesco does great leggings that fit the bill, and obviously reasonable in price.

M&S Good move

3BSHKATS · 29/07/2023 12:35

Are they for exercise or wearing out? Mint velvet are perfect for the latter

londonmummy1966 · 29/07/2023 12:52

Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity are high waisted. They have an elastic drawstring but you could just not pull it tight.

PenelopeTheShroudWeaver · 29/07/2023 12:57

I can vouch for these

I hate top bands on leggings and I like a high waist. These are great and a really good price!

Sinophant leggings from Amazon. Super soft, high waisted, big waistband.

lastminutewednesday · 29/07/2023 14:37

Halara. Best and comfiest leggings and shorts I've ever had. Very high waisted.

GlasgowGal82 · 29/07/2023 14:52

I got a couple of pairs of leggings from Matalan earlier this summer and they fit your description. They are not the active ones, but the cotton-mix stretchy ones that you would wear beneath a dress.

NoWordForFluffy · 29/07/2023 14:59

Bamboo clothing has high waisted leggings without elastic. They're really comfy.

TamzinGrey · 31/07/2023 15:46

Llama leggings fit your spec perfectly. They come in an incredibly soft stretchy fabric, and have a very wide waistband which is really comfy.
Best of all they have deep pockets as an option.
They come in a variety of lovely patterns, but they also do the plain navy that you've asked for.
I've got several pairs of the full length and the cropped ones and I love them to bits.
