Long necklaces for fat necks

I’m attempting to recoup some sense of style after putting on more weight and falling deeper and deeper in to frumpiness…

So, where might I find big, chunky, colourful, not expensive necklaces which are made long enough to fit round very fat necks?

Although I need them longer than normal, I really want necklaces which sit quite high, not the type that get eaten by boobs. Tried some in accessorize and they were like chokers on me.

I used to go in Evans clothes shop for this type of thing, watching this with interest

What kind of style? Tulip jewellery is good for silver.

Friendofdennis · 27/07/2023 23:44

Good old M and S

Ah that Tulip site is lovely, but not quite what I’m after (I’ve got some nice pendants that I’ve had put on to longer chains).

This kind of thing, but I’d also just like to browse for inspiration!

Yours, simply be, Evans or Sainsbury’s probably your best bet or perhaps Oliver Bonas

Zara is good for different chunky necklaces.

Flurbegurb · 28/07/2023 11:45

Maybe Etsy and get something custom? I also have this issue!

Buy a necklace extender if they have a chain type fasten, then you can adjust to sit in exactly the right place

The curvy girl shops are Evans, YoursClothing and SimplyBe. You will get your size in any of them

OR buy an extender on ebay for a couple quid. I bought gold and silver in lobster clasp and the circle one too.

Get some made by an independent jewellery maker. The Bees Fuzzy Bum on Instagram is good and reasonable. Or try charity shops.

I just typed in "chunky necklace" on Vinted and lots came up - might be worth exploring to try some styles out. A necklace extender a good idea.

CMOTDibbler · 28/07/2023 15:15

I use necklace extenders, cheap as anything on Amazon
