Itchy Wool and Winter Coats

I would love a dupe of this Max Mara coat (trying to up my style game) but I can't have wool anywhere near my skin without it really irritating me. I just can't seem to find non wool ones that come near to looking like this. I don't mind spending a bit more for quality that means it will last.

Any ideas?

Is it sheep wool specifically you react to? If so you could try eg cashmere. I have a beautiful cashmere coat (vintage and a bargain) and it’s very soft and feels amazing on.

I think most higher end coats will be mostly wool, cashmere or similar. Synthetic you’re mainly looking at high street - would be worth looking around as you might get something that looks similar and is good quality although won’t be quite as luxe!

Have a google for ‘synthetic camel coat’ and similar as there will be loads out there. https://www.asos.com/forever-new/forever-new-formal-wrap-coat-with-tie-belt-in-camel/prd/203004818

No idea OP but I feel your pain. I can't have any type of wool (even Cashmere) anywhere near me. All the nicest jumpers are always made of wool, or wool mix and the cotton or synthetic ones are usually very granny'ish. It's a bloody nightmare.

@ginasevern Yes this - that is my next ask - I have some truly terrible jumpers/cardigan

Is it the collar that bothers you (as the wool is on the inside) ?

I have this and only way round it is to wear a thin scarf next to my skin

@Tipsylizard Lol, brilliant - and that's exactly what I end up looking like! It drives me nuts. Everyone tells me to wear a blouse underneath woollen jumpers but I can still feel it and it still makes my skin break out in hives. Maybe we should go into business together, there must be others like us!
