Go with me here...

A million years ago (ok about 30), before the huge Corporation that is called Lush I have thoughts about Lush if you're a fan, this may not be the post for you.

Pre-Lush, the founders of Lush had a brilliant company called Cosmetics To Go.

CTG were everything that Lush pretends to be.
Unfortunately, CTG went into receivership, I believe that they could have succeeded, they were gaining customers, and traction.
This was pre-internet, so going viral was a countrywide case of the flu. Becoming popular would have been word of mouth.

CTG did a brilliant Egg based shampoo, it made my hair shine without cloying or being sticky.
The smell was incredible, it didn't smell of egg, I don't like eggs!

Since then I have been looking for a good egg shampoo.
Does anyone know of one?

I imagine most places have gone as vegan as possible but following with interest

DOP egg shampoo

The French company DOP do an egg shampoo. I've never used it but it's available through Amazon. They make super sweet-scented shower gels too.

I also have thoughts about Lush. I don't have any info about egg shampoo I'm afraid.

I like your username OP, is it from something?

TooYoungToKnowTooOldToCare · 28/07/2023 16:57

Thanks @TheLongRider it's cheap enough, I'll try it.

Agreed @greenteaandmarshmallows, to each their own. I'm not a vegan, let alone vegetarian. I don't want to use products tested on animals (there's no need for them), though I'm easy about non-vegan products.

I know that Lush aren't vegan, they are vegetarian.

CTG weren't vegan either, they existed in the '90s.

@LuckOfTheDrawer I like your username too.

No, my username was chosen in haste a few days ago. I change my username regularly. I've been on MN for years, I was here when the doxxing happened.

Thank you, you made me smile 😊

Vatika. They do a conditioner and mask too

Natural Egg Protein Shampoo 200 ml [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00486M1DG?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_dp_GQMSEDDBQ86V945R0SQP www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00486M1DG?ref<a class="break-all" href="https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00486M1DG?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_dp_GQMSEDDBQ86V945R0SQP&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-style-and-beauty-4858679-egg-shampoo-not-homemade" rel="nofollow" target="blank">=cmmswrrapindppGQMSEDDBQ86V945R0SQP

Be warned the mask is strongly scented and I smelt like I had been wafting about in a shop filled with patchouli

TooYoungToKnowTooOldToCare · 03/08/2023 22:10

Thanks @Bonfire23 is the shampoo & conditioner any good?

I loved Cosmetics to Go and used to order from their quirky newspaper style catalogue. Loved that shampoo - was there possibly honey in it too? It smelled gorgeous. Also mud masks. I adored the packaging and the prices were good.
