Manicure/pedicure and acrylics

Hi all

I've never ever had my nails done before (i know). I've always just had them short so I cut/file at home

I have an event to attend and decided to get them done. Do I ask for a manicure/pedicure plus the full set? Is there a point getting a manicure/pedicure if acrylics will be applied ontop? Sorry if these questions sound silly!

This is a picture of what I wanted

I have a full set acrylic and wouldn’t bother with a manicure first because you don’t see your nails once acrylics are on- they will do your cuticles and put oil on them as part of doing the acrylics.

Then I have a full pedicure (because I want them to exfoliate my feet etc) with shellac on my toes.

If you don't get them often maybe go for shellac/gel nails rather than acrylic, acrylics are difficult to remove once they grow out! Acrylic is expensive also! X

@justanothermummma thats true about acrylic, they are a faff to remove (I forgot that because I have mine permanently!). Round here acrylics and gel are the same price, presuming you mean gel extensions not just gel polish… so I guess it depends on the salon price wise. I find acrylic really heard wearing too.
