Anyone found a DD+ bikini top with decent coverage?

I used my swimsuit on the beach last year but it's a bit faffy changing in and out of a swimsuit vs bikini separates.

I'd like a new bikini and I know that Bravissimo, Brastop, Pourmoi all sell bikinis for bigger busts but I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a specific bikini top (tried and tested) that is practical for swimming in and running around the beach with the DC whilst remaining decent, rather than a sexy bikini to flaunt the bigger bust iyswim...

I'm 36DD and got a nice bikini from Sainsbury's recently- they do the tops by bra sizes and bottoms separately. Good job as I'm 12-14 in clothes - a size 14 bikini top is indecent, I wouldn't dare try a 12, looks like my size 8 32B daughter would just about get in it, and so are the bottoms as a 14 would be falling down.

The problem is that shops don't have a good selection for people going on holidays in August as they start to get rid of bikinis and stock autumn stuff.

@Catspyjamas17 have you checked your bra size recently? 36 anything seems a big back size for a 12. Likewise, I bet your size 8 daughter is more of a 28 back but 2 sizes bigger in the cup. Have a look at Boob or Bust Facebook page for measuring advice. I thought I was a 34DD- turns out I’m a 30G! I’m a 12-14 dress size.

I've had this discussion on another thread. I'm either 34E or 36DD - nothing smaller than a 34 would even fasten round my back let alone allow me to breathe. Especially in shops other than TU. I don't know about my daughter, but she's 18 and pretty good at knowing what suits her.

dementedpixie · 26/07/2023 16:27

I wear a 36 back at a size 20/22 (36GG/H)
Dd is a 32 back at size 12/14 (32FF)

If the cup is too small it can make the back feel tighter as the breast tissue takes up some of the band size.

Catspyjamas17 · 26/07/2023 16:36

My current bras are comfortable and fit, and I don't have problems buying bikinis provded they are sold separately and with different cup sizes. I've measured myself according to the new rules and tried bras that are supposed to fit. They don't, unless breathing is overrated and the aim is to make your back look like a couple of sausages.

Catspyjamas17 · 26/07/2023 16:39

And in a 32FF I could get two of my breasts in one half of the bra without being able to fasten the back.

SocksAndTheCity · 26/07/2023 17:42

I wouldn't worry @Catspyjamas17 , my 'new rules' size is 30H and having tried it with a few different styles it was like having my torso cut in half. I've no doubt at all that this measuring method will eventually go the same way as the old adding on one.

I'm 32G (32FF with Panache) at a size ten, and provided they're the right shape my bras fit perfectly. I don't think measuring is anything more than a guide anyway and there's no substitute for trying them on Smile

I have several Freya ones. They are modelled on the 'deco' bra style. Very comfortable and flattering.

Just come back from holiday. I wore this bikini from next most days. Including beach and water park. So so comfortable. www.next.co.uk/style/ST191614/c00227#c00227. I'm a 34F. I would order your normal bra size.

That's a nice one! Might buy it

Paddingtonthebear · 26/07/2023 18:38

I bought this Freya one in 32g last year , but I found it on Amazon for a lot less £!

@SocksAndTheCity Exactly! There was a whole thread on this recently.

FireflyJar · 27/07/2023 18:42

Ann Summers do nice bigger bust bikinis

ThreadExterminator · 27/07/2023 23:21

Just to update, I've ended up keeping two Figleaves bikini tops that I'm really pleased with. Contain everything decently and they're comfortable!

One of them is the Rene suggested by @CinnamonJellyBeans and the other one is a stripy one that's more typical bra shaped but works.
