Anyone found a DD+ bikini top with decent coverage?

I used my swimsuit on the beach last year but it's a bit faffy changing in and out of a swimsuit vs bikini separates.

I'd like a new bikini and I know that Bravissimo, Brastop, Pourmoi all sell bikinis for bigger busts but I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a specific bikini top (tried and tested) that is practical for swimming in and running around the beach with the DC whilst remaining decent, rather than a sexy bikini to flaunt the bigger bust iyswim...

I was a 30e I’m now a 32dd. Basically the same 5 inches out. Anyway I have a nice zebra print bikini from M&S. it’s a great cut, the bikini bottom is just a nice normal knocker shape, I absolutely hate the loincloth style that’s always in asos, every other one seems to be a thong on there too.

speaking of Asos, don’t bother. Their dd+ swimwear is awful, not true to size whatsoever. I bought a crop top style one supposedly 32dd and it looked like it would barely fit my 10 year old niece. Just rubbish, don’t waste your money, pretty sure I left a narky review too.

Knicker shape not knocker

BonjourCrisette · 25/07/2023 22:17

Lepel is great for this. I have this set and it is so comfortable and really does not budge.

I like Free by Gottex. I sized up a cup, down a back for a more supportive fit. I buy the tops and then just pick up cheap plain briefs elsewhere.

toomanyleggings · 25/07/2023 22:36

I wear a G cup and they don’t move in any of my pourmoi ones. They are heavy duty

I tried on loads in m&s, most were rubbish at containing the larger nork. However the bandeau style were better and I did end up getting this one in size 14, which contains my 36Es very comfortably. It is a pain they only do dress sizing and not bra sizing though. https://www.marksandspencer.com/padded-square-neck-bikini-top/p/clp60581934#intid=pid_pg1pip48g2r1c1

I found I could safely swim in this bandeau style, which is most definitely not the case for lower cut/cleavage style tops.

I got this one from M and S in black, and matched it with an old pair of fold down knickers from Next. I was sceptical as I didn’t really want a padded one (norks being big enough on their own) but it looked good and was definitely secure and supportive

Also got a Boden bandeau halter one in the sale; it was £14 iirc and worked well

Form and Fold. Started by two Australian women with small rib cage and large cup sizes, because they couldn’t find anything that would support them but look good. I love their bikini tops, although they tend to be block colours. Can mix and match the different top and bottom styles. The models range in size so you can get an idea what the tops look like on different shapes

Pour moi space cami bikini top is great. I use it for water sports/playing with the kids and I’m a 36FF/G depending on the bra.

rosiebl · 25/07/2023 23:14

Just come back from holiday. I wore this bikini from next most days. Including beach and water park. So so comfortable. www.next.co.uk/style/ST191614/c00227#c00227. I'm a 34F. I would order your normal bra size.

CinnamonJellyBeans · 26/07/2023 00:56

figleaves rene bikini top

Looks more like a crop top. Very supportive. Great for swimming, but still nice enough to wear on the beach. Comes in bra sizes. Costs about £30.

You got my interest there, but they start at 30.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 26/07/2023 09:15

Honestly, I got a brilliant one from Matalan and I'm 38 F

Ultravox · 26/07/2023 09:32

I bought this one and wore it non still on holiday. The crossed back makes it feel really secure.

Don’t think it would be good for sport but I used it as a bra during a 15km hike (over hills to end up at a beach & didn’t want to carry more than I had to) and it felt v supportive.

I’ve had bikini tops from Figleaves, Freya, and others, if they’re underwired that helps. Also as @blondiepigtails say look for a shape which matches your normal bra shape.

I did get a nice red tankini in France (don’t think it was French make) which is great too.

Don’t bother with places like Tesco, got a nice blue striped blues bikini set featured in Grazia and even the 14 is tight. It’ll do for a beach holiday on the sun lounger though.

blondiepigtails · 26/07/2023 10:03

@DelilahBucket I have several bikini tops from Free By Gottex. Absolutely love them and nothing falls out!

Exactly! My DD is a 28 rib cage (her frame is tiny) but with big boobs (no idea of actual size), and it's impossible to find bras or bikini tops for her - especially the latter with decent coverage.

Thegoldgrind · 26/07/2023 11:49

Just back from a beach holiday and I had these two!

www.bravissimo.com/products/whitsunday-bikini-top-sw536/#palm-print-sw536ppt

www.bravissimo.com/products/anya-voyage-bandeau-bikini-top-ps114/

Both were very supportive, had good coverage and stayed in place while running about with toddlers! I sized up on the back size on the first one as it seemed a small fit!

ThreadExterminator · 26/07/2023 12:06

Thanks everyone - and sorry that I've been slow to come back to the thread. Trying to wrap up work before holiday!

I have ordered a couple of different Figleaves tops (including the Rene suggested upthread) and a couple of Fantasie tops.

I've ordered through SimplyBe as the prices were lowest there and next day delivery not too steep.

Another vote for Fantasie. I get measured at Rigby & Peller so I know my 'true' size, then I usually go up a band size in bikinis (any brand), as my usual one often feels too tight. I know it's got to withstand massive waves, cliff diving etc but still, girl needs to breathe!

Cup sizes vary massively between brands, but I stick to my usual one in the Fantasie full cup, and have found the fit consistent and flattering.

BenjaminDisraeli · 26/07/2023 12:21

Oh sorry@ThreadExterminator, cross posting! Have a fab holiday and enjoy the sun in your new biks!
