Cool, cotton dresses

I am off to France in August. I need a cool, cotton dress. Ideally, with some sort of shoulder/sleeve cover. I am 5ft 6", Size 12/14 and 47 with pale skin. I've look everywhere but can't find one!

I love Joanie for lovely dresses. or etsy can be good too for something more specific.

I cannot think of a single women’s clothing shop that is not currently stocking cotton dresses! Where on earth have you been looking? A few in ascending order of price.

I have this from Sainsburys. It's really cool and comfortable. And doesn't crease.

On the Next website you can filter by material. A search gor cotton dresses with shirt sleeves returned over 300 possibilities.

I had given up with Boden, but this is the best dress I've bought in God knows how long. That Nobody's Child dress only has 10% cotton in it.

H&M and La Redoute let you filter by material and have quite a lot of cotton options.

Similar age/size to you. I usually go M&S but you have to check the material. There are loads of cotton options though.

I have this Winnie dress, it's 100% cotton cheesecloth, washes brilliantly and doesn't need ironing, it's a very similar style to a Whistles dress, just much less fabric and money!

I bought a 6 in 'regular' (my normal size) and 8 petite as I'm 5 foot 2, having read a review by someone who did similar. The 8 petite was better as the waist on the 6 was below my waist, and made the whole thing look wrong. The petite version is absolutely perfect (for me). I sized up because I prefer dresses to be a bit airy, and the petite versions are always less airy than the regular versions. I'm also flat chested - I'm not sure how it would work on someone with a larger bust, as there doesn't seem to be acres of fabric which I'm not filling (iyswim). I hope this makes sense!
