Anyone else just fed up with the weather? It feels like there’s no point in having summer clothes. It’s averaging 15-17 degrees where I am and it feels like it hasn’t stopped raining for 3 weeks.
I have a range of lovely camis which I like to pair with lightweight summer blazers. Chambray trousers or shorts or wrap skirts. All with sandals - kind of like Ancient Greek style.

Haven’t worn any of this for weeks - back in jeans with a jumper topped off with the same bloody khaki lightweight parka every bloody day - because it’s khaki green it also affects the colour jumper/top I can wear so I’m in bloody black all the time. With boots or trainers - fed up.

No idea why I’m posting but just wondering if anyone else is feeling the same - I had a lovely day planned out for today with an outfit (cami wrap dress and blazer with sandals) and have had to cancel. Now in pleather leggings with a jumper and black combat boots - it’s July for crying out loud!!!!

Agree - it is a bit disappointing.

moggerhanger · 22/07/2023 11:25

Nope, I prefer it to blazing sun and high temperatures.

beancount · 22/07/2023 11:27

I'm sorry I'm really happy that it's not burning sun all day long - I find the way the planet is changing & warming terrifying and I also hate being trapped indoors because the sun is too hot to play/work outside.
Sorry!

14 degrees and heavy rain here in Yorkshire, not exactly the best weather for summer clothes.

LoobyDop · 22/07/2023 11:59

Yeah, it’s shit. I find bright pink helps. I’m getting a lot of wear out of my bright pink converse high tops.

I know what you mean! I’d bought some lovely new stuff this summer for the first time in ages and have hardly worn it ( was in hospital the two weeks of hot we had!).

I don’t manage well when it’s very hot but it’s the lack of sunshine that is so depressing.

I'm the same. I have some lovely summer things that I've barely worn and back to jeans and a shirt most days. I did buy a long sleeve maxi dress which I've worn a few times, but its still quite thin. I'm fed up of not seeing the sun although I'd just settle for a few dry days at this point!

I've been wearing my Saltwater sandals; they are designed to be worn in wet conditions so are absolutely fine. I'm glad it's not +40C like this time last summer!

Vicliz24 · 22/07/2023 14:04

Completely agree I'm so fed up of the pissing rain and needing me Ugg slippers in the evenings. I'm not asking for schorchio ( even though I'd love it ) just to stop raining and reach 22 degrees.

elfx · 22/07/2023 14:06

I much prefer autumn/winter clothes and anything above about 15 degrees is too hot for me 🙈

JMAngel1 · 22/07/2023 14:11

It just feels like there’s no point having summer clothes living in UK.
I love a cosy autumn/winter as much as the next woman but I really hate having to wear the same clothes year round. It gets so boring.

Never mind the crisp cold days of autumn, so beloved on MN, are not far off. Time to get the wood burner prepared for lighting.
Must get my snow shovel out of the shed.
😁😁

I could happily wear oversized jumpers and leggings for the rest of my life 🤣 I thrive in the colder months!!

Yep, some actual seasons would be nice! Autumn is lovely but only after summer. These endless grey, windy and rainy days are tedious!

I'm with you, bought some lovely summer clothes in the sales that cannot be worn....linen jumpsuit, sandals, blazer and shorts set.

Ah well they'll be mainly unworn by next summer
