Claire’s accessories ear piercing prices

I’m so confused re. Their prices, can anyone help?

It says free ear piercing when you purchase a ‘starter kit’.. the starter kit is (cheapest) £17 per stud.. so does that mean it will cost £34 for simple studs? Seems really expensive! I have had a good few piercings but not had one in 4 years due to back to back pregnancies and breastfeeding so out the loop on prices now. The local piercers are notoriously rude in our area and I’ve done my research and happy with gun piercings.

If I didn’t go for the option of a starter kit how much is it then? There’s literally nothing online, I have emailed but not heard anything back.

I paid £68 back in April. That was for some small gold studs

Bloody el fire!!!! That’s ridiculous! It’s just the stainless steel ones I want 😞

Dc had their ears pierced at Claire's a few years ago. There dad took them against my advice. Cost the best part of £100 each. The gun stuck on one of dd1 s ears and the other gun doing dd2 stuck on both ears. Dd1's was sore for longer than normal but eventually healed dd2 ended up needing to take hers out and a couple of courses of anti biotics. They followed all cleaning to the letter. A year later i took dd2 to a piercer where it cost £25 and never had a bit of issue with them. Never got red or sore. No expensive cleaning kits. Was told to get a bottle of contact lens solution for a couple of quid. I'd put up with the rudeness for the reasons above

I got one ear piercing at Claires recently with the cheapest stud option and it was almost £30!! I was really surprised.

Squirrelsnut · 18/07/2023 10:27

Incidentally, this was the first piercing where I DIDN'T rotate the stud several times a day, and it healed much faster. The latest thinking is that rotation actually slows healing as it agitates the wound.

DiscoDeborah · 18/07/2023 10:32

Do Claire's still use a gun? If so I would be taking them to somewhere that uses the needle method.

DiscoDeborah · 18/07/2023 10:33

Surely every piercer in the area can't be rude and awful?

nasanas · 18/07/2023 10:34

Just go to a professional piercer. I have no idea why people take such needless risks by using Claire's.

Aseagullatemybaby · 18/07/2023 11:05

Did I ask your opinions on the type of piercer that will be piercing MY ears? No. I find it incredibly rude and patronising. Just because we’re faceless doesn’t mean you have the right to be condescending and rude. I asked for experience in the cost.

I have personal experience in gun and needle piercing and found both absolutely fine.

@NancyJoan you’re a star! Thank you. I’ve just looked on my laptop and for some reason my phone glitched and only shown the single options. Thank you so much for that!

DD had hers done at Claire’s 2 weeks ago and £75!! But healing well and all good.

That’s interesting, my most recent piercings I’ve been the same, basically because I forgot, and I reckon they’ve healed a lot faster too, especially the lobe one

TropicalTrama · 18/07/2023 11:16

I would say though- expect the cheap ones to be out of stock and expect them to try to sneak the £15 rapid after care solution on without telling you. I couldn’t care less about the gun versus the needle but Claire’s are rip off merchants.

Aseagullatemybaby · 18/07/2023 11:49

@TropicalTrama i will definitely be on the look out for the added ‘extras’ and no twiddling..top tips, thank you!

I’m shocked at the prices quotes here for Claires! Will admit that I didn’t even look at Claires as an option when DD gor her ears pierced, as she has a couple of friends who had bad experiences there. We went to a local beauty salon. £30 for piercings, gold studs and all the aftercare kit.

I would have told you that to your face too.

I didn't say it to be rude or patronising but if you think a gun piercing at Claire's is reasonable then perhaps I should be patronising. You may have found both to be 'fine' but the risk is much higher with an unskilled gun piercer than it is with a properly trained needle piercer.

Jesus.. what a delight you must be in person 😆

Yeah, imagine trying to stop someone taking needless risks with their body.

But seriously, I didn't post to be critical, I posted to try and get you to think.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/07/2023 13:42

If you are looking for gun piercing then what about Superdrug?

Claires are always madly busy as soon as the holidays start as lots of school aged children want them done at the beginning of the 6 week holidays .

I have no idea what the lotion contains , I used saline spray in my latest piercings

Gymmum82 · 18/07/2023 13:45

£96 for some flower studs which got infected.
Went to a local piercer the next time and got similar style for £25.
Claire’s seem ridiculously overpriced

YungDumbThrills · 18/07/2023 13:49

Proper piercer, using a needle, everytime! Much cheaper and also a lot cleaner and much better way of piercing!

Lifeetc · 18/07/2023 14:35

Having worked at Claire's when younger I really wouldn't choose to go there regardless of price.
My "training" was by piercing a piece of square foam. Once.
Then I was expected to pierce real people!!!
I did not just to clarify I was always "busy" when someone wanted their ears pierced

You're the rude one
