If I like tropic moisturiser..

Hi
I really like the tropic day and night moisturisers but I can't afford them anymore.

I don't want a greasy feel. My nose is greasy. Patches of dryer skin around my eyebrows and mouth. Red cheeks which are 'normal'

Any ideas, that don't pill also...

thought Tropic as a MLM gig ?

RunnyPaint · 17/07/2023 16:00

Yes, Tropic is MLM, but the OP was asking for recommendations for good alternative products that are cheaper rather than about the ethics of the company. I am in similar boat, having just finished products sold to me by a friend, so would also be interested.

forrestgreen · 17/07/2023 17:49

Yep it's not my ethics buy definitely. A good friend sold it and I genuinely do love the moisturisers. So a tricky one.

Yes I'd love an 'off the shelf' much cheaper alternative please.

I'm thinking of going back to the Revitalift range I was using before, or the similarly priced ones that are available in the supermarket (whichever is on offer). The Aldi caviar one was OK, too. But, does anyone have any other suggestions?

forrestgreen · 18/07/2023 09:21

The Aldi one pilled on me, was it ok for you?

It's a while since I had it. I don't think it pilled, but I didn't love it enough to go back to it when it ran out...

xogossipgirlxo · 18/07/2023 15:35

I love tropic moisturiser too (skin feast) and haven't found any yet that is equally good, so following with interest. Tried facetheory, but it's not as nourishing unfortunately :(

ToughLoveLDN · 18/07/2023 15:38

Cerave is good, non scented. Moisturising without being greasy and doesn’t pill with my makeup.
I used to use Elemis, Bobbi Brown or Dior face creams and have found this actually works better

buckleten · 18/07/2023 16:02

Tropic skin feast is nice, the closest thing I have found to it is no.7 protect and perfect which is also really nice.

GreenMarigold · 18/07/2023 16:05

I like green people vitamin fix. It feels very nourishing and I’ve used it for years.

GreenMarigold · 18/07/2023 16:07

Oh just looked at Tropic and the prices aren’t very different. Green people do offers a lot though - 20% off at the moment.

forrestgreen · 18/07/2023 16:10

Thanks everyone

Well I thought I'd start low £ I bought a Lidl one.
It's white and has left me looking chalky even hours later. I didn't use a lot either. And it's pilled.
Argh

Look at Weleda - they are plant based, cruelty free and non MLM.

JaneJeffer · 08/08/2023 23:21

Nivea Soft

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 09/08/2023 00:02

CeraVe is fantastic.

hby9628 · 09/08/2023 06:57

Agree with CeraVe. I've got this alongside a more expensive moisturiser and much prefer it
If you do want to continue using tropic though check Vinted.

Neversaygoodbye · 09/08/2023 07:05

I don't know how they compare to the tropic, but I like Aveeno calm and restore, Elf Holy Hydration, and Geek and Gorgeous hydration station. I do prefer a lighter weight moisturiser.

Grapewrath · 09/08/2023 08:02

I tried tropic and found it on but is very expensive as it is a MLM
I use facetheory vitamin C range and actually find it better

Grapewrath · 09/08/2023 08:02

Ok I mean!
