Foundations always make my skin a bit purple/dull?

Any advice please for an inexperienced make up wearer!

I'm looking for a light coverage foundation or tinted moisturizer, but they all seem to make my skin look dull and kind of bluey/purple.

I go red quite easily and often look quite flushed in the cheeks and round my nose. Having said this, my skin otherwise is quite tan, so not classically kind of English rose, cold skin.

I'd like a coverage that sorts out the redness in my cheeks but still gives me a nice glow, rather than the flat blue tinge I get now. Has anyone got any ideas?

Sounds like you are wearing the wrong colour for your skin tone. There are green tinted creams to wear under makeup to calm down redness and flushing.

If you live near any big stores book a makeup consultation to get advice on application and products.
You could also look at makeup tutorials on You Tube for your skin type/ age etc.
