Cashmere wrap

I’m being gifted an Italian cashmere wrap. All I have to do is choose the colour. I’ve always wanted one so I’m excited to have this as a useful addition to my wardrobe. Trouble is I can’t decide what colour will be the most practical. My top three based on what it will need to go with in terms of existing items is (in no particular order) … grey, navy or beige. Quite frankly said like that they all sound practical and boring. As it’s something I’m never likely to buy myself due to the expense and it’s a luxury (to me) should I go for something like a pink one (pale), cerise or a bright blue one - help - I’m seriously over thinking this 😀

Ooo what a lovely gift!

I'd go either for beige (I'm a neutral girl 😂) or baby pink. Probably beige as I think it would go with way more outfits I owned than any other, but baby pink is such a lovely colour and I do have a soft spot for it. If I was feeling fancy I might swing the way of pale pink just to feel glamorous wrapped into it. My MIL wore a neutral toned one to our winter wedding, it looked fantastic with her dress - she's worn it many times with different outfits and it always looks lovely.

What's your colouring like? Do you favour any particular colour in your wardrobe?

Charcoal is nice as like black it goes with anything but is kinder to your face than wearing black.

LuckOfTheDrawer · 16/07/2023 17:12

Yes, a gorgeous dark charcoal 💛.

I know !! I feel very lucky to be getting a lovely gift.

I’ve got quite Mediterranean colouring, dark hair and dark eyes. I tend to stick to blues, navy, white, cream and pops of colour but never yellow and not a lot of green. I’ve got to the age of knowing what colours feel right for me. Never had my colours done and only wear silver jewellery. I keep thinking of the pale pink one, which definitely was not at the top of the list but which is growing on me.
thanks for the help 😊

Sadly charcoal isn’t an option - only black which I don’t tend to wear too much of.

What about light grey? I'm all about the grey 😄.

Oceanus · 16/07/2023 18:18

I have a raspberry/fuschia one. It's a colour that's a bit outside my comfort zone for clothes but I love it. It's a very happy colour and it looks fine with my mostly bland winter clothes.

Whataretheodds · 16/07/2023 18:30

You have to choose a colour that suits your complexion beautifully.

For myself I'd go for a pale silvery grey. Navy won't go with black nor vice versa. White will show up dirt too easily but would be lovely.

IloveJudgeJudy · 16/07/2023 18:36

I’d be inclined to get a jewel colour to give the clothes that you normally wear a pop of colour. Also it will look lovely against your skin.

florriegirl · 16/07/2023 18:40

Pale pink would be gorgeous with your colouring and goes with so many colours. Lucky you.

Thank you for all the comments, this really is helpful … it’s the grey, pink or fuscia dilemma now 😂

Regarding my last post, for reference, I have brown hair and I'm NC15 in MAC Studio Fix Fluid, just google it to have an idea of what I look like. I lean yellow-ish in winter so the fuschia balances out the yellow. I can't carry anything pastel, yellow, orange or grey near my face or I'd look too sickly.

Trixibella · 17/07/2023 08:17

Wine red!

RoyKentFanclub · 17/07/2023 08:19

It doesn’t sound from your description that baby pink or grey are right. It sounds far more like you need navy with your colouring.

Shangrilalala · 17/07/2023 08:37

You May get a lot of wear out of a warmer shade than beige - a caramel? I have two and they go with most outfits and give a really lovely polished look.

I hate the onset of autumn but the joy of my gorgeous cashmere wraps helps make the chill a little more bearable.

scrivette · 17/07/2023 08:41

It sounds like I have similar colouring to you and jewel colours work well - I say go for the fuchsia.

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 17/07/2023 08:43

Fuschia. I have a fuschia cashmere hoodie and wear it all the time in season. I’m looking out for a bright turquoise or teal one this winter.

Beebumble2 · 17/07/2023 11:03

I also have a Fucshia one, it lifts dark colours and gives a subtle glow to the skin on winter days

LuckOfTheDrawer · 17/07/2023 11:27

I'm leaning towards fuschia 🙂.

OutOutEarrings · 17/07/2023 11:35

I have a light grey cashmere wrap that I love and wear with everything. I don’t wear grey otherwise (tend to go for colours) and it goes with everything. If/when I get another I would go brighter but I’m really happy with this neutral one.

it was a big spend but the cost per wear will be very low now as I use it so much.

I’d say make this decision with your heart not your head. When you love something you’ll get the wear and joy out of it. Sure, take practicality into account but I honestly think you should start with what you love for this kind of purchase

RaininginDarling · 17/07/2023 16:45

How lovely! Lucky you!

I invested in the Rise & Fall cashmere wrap in stone (or cream to us mere mortals) for my wedding. I didn't need it as, lucky us, it was very warm in May but I've lived in it ever since. It's a wonderful rich colour amd goes with everything.

Maddy70 · 17/07/2023 16:48

If you have lovely Mediterranean colouring I wouldn't go for a neutral. I would go for an emerald green or orange which will go with those colours but will accent your colouring

Bunny2021 · 17/07/2023 16:49

I would go beige as I think it's more of a 'classic' colour and won't date/age at all.

Spanielsarepainless · 17/07/2023 16:52

I have a sky blue one which I love. Go for a colour you love. I have a huge merino wrap I bought in a charity shop and it's pillar-box red.
