Silk robe ideas

Hello,

I need a new lightweight summer robe and I've wanted a silk one for years.

Any ideas or recommendations?

I love jewel colours, and want one just past knee length.

Lilysilk are a possibility, but any other ideas? Open to both a beautiful print and a sale bargain.

I want to get years of wear out of it so budget is flexible, up to about £200.

Thanks 😊

The best ones I've ever had are from Quarzia in Bali (who do deliver internationally). Amazing quality silk and all hand painted. Quite stunning. But a little over budget and I'm guessing you might not feel comfortable spending that much on something you haven't seen/felt in real life (I first came across them when I was in Bali) and recommended by some random on the internet.

I know where you're coming from! I bought myself this in blue, and love it - I'm only 5'4" but it's not too long and the small wraps around me very nicely. The silk is quite thick, so it is a good price:

Have you got a sewing machine? Buy a saree. You get 5 metres of silk, 110cm wide. A robe's all straight lines, easy to make. Most saree suppliers will even make it up for you, at a ridiculously low fee.

Not long ago you could wander into a sari shop in any town centre and have hundreds to choose from. Now they're mostly online. The UK-based ones do have physical premises, mostly in Bitmingham, London or the Manchester area.

Sulis Silks, who have a website and good customer service IME. Lilysilk are also good.

I have a blue sprigged one that's years old from Past Times, but that's of no help to you, as they no longer exist. I also have a red silk one, but I don't remember where I bought it. Possibly Singapore, so also of no use.

If you are near Guildford, then the Watts Gallery at Compton often has stuff like this in their shop.

Not silk, but just for fun have a look at the 100 Stars website. Lovely light fabric in all sorts of designs.

I got a stunning silk robe from Liberty in the sale last summer reduced to £150. I love it. It’s a beautiful Liberty print and feels so luxurious. Perhaps hold out for the winter sale?

Thank you everyone, some wonderful ideas to look through. I was finding it hard to find these sort of sites via Google and I was sure s&b would just know!

Any other ideas welcome 😊
