Has anyone had a LVL lash lift, keratin lash treatment or lash perm?

What were the results? How long did it last? Do you think it was worth it? How frequently did you get it re-done?
I'm trying to decide between them, currently feeling like the LVL lash lift is the one I'm going to go for, but not sure. I just want my lashes to actually curl because they got thicker after DC1 was born and I can't curl them now, even if I heat my lash curlers (Shu Uemura and Japonesque) with my hairdryer!
TIA!

I’ve had LVL, I liked it and the curl was lovely for the first couple of weeks. After that it lost impact a bit, not completely gone but not as good as the first couple of weeks. If I could afford it I’d probably have it done regularly but it’s £45 a time so it’s something I’d just do for holidays. A lash perm is the same thing as LVL, not sure about the keratin treatment I’m afraid.

I do it myself using Diablo

pepperaunt · 16/07/2023 02:41

My lashes are long but poker straight. I had a lash perm and it didn’t take

Nojumpingorrunning · 16/07/2023 06:35

I have LVL every 6 weeks and it’s marvellous!

monpetitlapin · 16/07/2023 10:11

Thanks all.
@Greengrassoh I don't think I'm brave enough to do it myself. I used to put my own lash extensions in (the proper ones) and it was a monumental faff.
@Nojumpingorrunning Thanks! Getting it done every 6 weeks doesn't sound too bad as a time commitment.
@Sotired22 That's about the price here, too. I think it would annoy me a bit if it wore off really quickly.
@pepperaunt Oh no what a shame! That's what I'm worried about, too, although my lashes always used to curl pre-kids. Do you have straight hair as well? Mine's curly.

I have LVL every 3 months. Love it 😍

Happycow · 16/07/2023 16:33

I have had probably 20 lash lifts over the last few years - LVL and other brands. I prefer non-lvl brands tbh as i end up with one kink in my lashes with lvl rather than a neat curl i get with others.

For me, all last about a week maybe a week and a half, then the effect goes away - but a very quick go with an eyelash curler and they pop back up.

Plump82 · 16/07/2023 16:37

I've had LVL and honestly I hated it. One eye the curl was nice. The other eye the curl was more of a bend and a quite severe one at that so I couldn't put mascara on. And then when they started falling out and new lashes grew in, they all got tangled.

RandomMess · 16/07/2023 16:51

Mine don't take well lasts a couple of days.

Baffledismydefault · 16/07/2023 17:01

I had LVL and it made very little difference so won't bother again.

KellyMarieTunstall2 · 17/07/2023 20:28

I love LVL. I have it every 3 months and I never need to wear mascara.

ShadowPuppets · 17/07/2023 20:30

LVL very hit and miss in my opinion- had a great one for my wedding, went elsewhere before a holiday and it didn’t do much. I’d make sure you get a decent recommendation, I think it really depends on the person doing it.

purdypuma · 18/07/2023 09:24

I have the LVL in summer, lasts roughly 6 to 8 wks. Saves me using mascara In summer with bad hay-fever. Use a lash serum in the morning & brush them through with a spoolie.

Bookist · 18/07/2023 10:04

Have had LVL a few times and every time my lashes grow back sort of spiralled in places.

cactidream · 18/07/2023 10:29

I had perm several times.
The best effect lasted...a week?
It was completely gone after 2, but my lashes are super straight.

Tried different places- the same
Once I had them burned during the procedure:/

Squirrelsnut · 18/07/2023 10:32

I've done it once and it looked really good but I can't afford it regularly.

monpetitlapin · 08/08/2023 11:25

I just wanted to update this thread that I went ahead and got the LVL lash lift. I am stunned at the results. My lashes look amazing! Now to see how long it lasts. She did say that because my lashes are so naturally flat that she had to curl my lashes more widely this time to get them used to it then she'd do them more tightly next time, as if she went straight for the tighter curl they wouldn't last very long. She also told me to not get my lashes wet/hot at all for 24 hours, not even steam from the dishwasher or heat from the oven.

Has anyone had a LVL lash lift, keratin lash treatment or lash perm?

They look great! I'm not sure what she means when she says she can go curlier next time as it wouldn't take first time round. In 6 weeks, it will be a completely new lot of lashes you will be lifting. These current ones will have all been shed and replaced. It's not the same lashes being curled a second time.

Yeah and me. Mind you, I had a nasty allergic reaction during the treatment and the therapist rapidly had to stop it and put shit loads of water on my eyes. It stung like fuck. Never again. Not meaning to scare you op … they do an allergy test beforehand. Clearly it made no difference to me though but that was my experience.

YesIknowalready · 08/08/2023 22:22

Just seen the update.

You look great 😍

SaturdayGiraffe · 08/08/2023 22:23

Woman kept tutting and telling me my lashes were too short and I need to stop blinking as she jabbed me in the eye for an hour.
“Your eyes are too watery.”
”Stop crying.”

Nothing like a bit of relaxing pampering 😆

Lughnasa · 08/08/2023 22:40

OP your lashes look lovely.

I had an LVL recently and hated it! I think it is too over curled - one eye looks quite good but the other is more a single kink. I’m guessing it wasn’t a good LVL!

Anyway I wouldn’t worry too much about the water/steam thing as on getting home and hating it I tried all of water/steam/oil etc to try and get the lash curl to drop and it made zero difference. Still going strong a week and a half on - although others tales of it not lasting are giving me hope.
