But not skinnies - I have some on atm & they're a bit loose still since loosing 2 stones while I was ill a few months ago.

I'm popping to town later on so hoping to pick something up then.

Budget probably somewhere around £25 ish preferably.

Thank you!

What's the occasion?

SimonsCow · 14/07/2023 09:36

I wouldn’t wear trousers with those shoes.. I would go for a pleated midi skirt. Maybe in cream or one of the colours of the flowers on the shoes.

Lavendersquare · 14/07/2023 09:37

Lovely shoes and top, I also think a midi pleat skirt could work.

FlickyCrumble · 14/07/2023 09:39

A slim leg crop trousers. Like an Audrey Hepburn style? In a light colour. Marks do some nice once’s.

IndiganDop · 14/07/2023 09:44

If it was a casual afternoon garden thing I'd wear a white or cream capri cropped trouser

Something along these lines if posher

Or like this if more informal

Ah, sorry, no particular occasion other than dinner at my favourite restaurant tomorrow evening. I haven't been out in months and really want to wear the shoes.

White or cream cropped trousers are probably more me than a skirt but I will have a look for, and try on, a midi skirt too.

Would you tuck in the top? It's long enough to tuck.

Thank you all, I'm probably overthinking a bit but feel quite self conscious atm - most of my clothes are still a bit too big 🙄

I agree, cropped trousers would show off the pretty shoes, the previous suggestions would work well.

Try on capri-style or wider leg to see which you’re more comfortable with.

Re whether or not to tuck in, you can decide once you have picked the trousers, this will depend on the tailoring/waist band detail.

Enjoy, those colours are beautiful!

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 14/07/2023 11:41

Wide leg cropped jeans would be perfect IMO. The shoes and top are both quite dressy so the jeans would balance it all out. The Sainsburys ones tagged are lovely!

IndiganDop · 14/07/2023 11:44

Coming back to say, I wouldn't wear white cropped Capri length trousers for an evening restaurant thing - to me they are more day or outside Summer evening ish.

Jeans or darker capris for a restaurant imo

madeinmanc · 14/07/2023 12:11

A red midi skirt, not too full but a slimline one, would look gorgeous with these IMO.

lucysmam · 14/07/2023 13:11

Ooh @ToWonderWhyIBother I really like those actually! I'll see what I can find that's like them.

@madeinmanc I do like the idea of a red skirt too, I'll see if there's one to try.

Thank you all so much, I really appreciate it!

madeinmanc · 14/07/2023 13:36

Glad you like the idea, on second thoughts I don't know why I said not a full skirt. Just ignore that.

ToWonderWhyIBother · 14/07/2023 13:53

@Lucysmam they are really comfy and wash brilliantly. I got them a few weeks ago and to be honest I feel as though I've lived in them since.

Where did you get the shoes from they are really lovely....might need to copy you and get a pair 😁

DaisyThistle · 14/07/2023 13:56

With that top and those shoes I'd either wear cream, stone or white floaty wide-legged linen or lightweight cotton trousers that are fitted at the waist - not drawstring, or fifties style white pedal pusher chinos.

lucysmam · 14/07/2023 18:15

No red skirt to be found; maybe a bit early in the year?

I'm going to hunt Vinted once I've showered, for future wear.

I did find some cropped jeans very similar to your link @ToWonderWhyIBother, I'm shorter than 5 feet tall so need to crop them some more but they won't take long tomorrow. The joy of being super short 🙄

@ToWonderWhyIBother I tagged you then forgot to answer about the shoes, so sorry, I'm forgetting all sorts today 🙈

They were on Vinted, as was the top. It took me about 20 seconds between "ooh, I love those shoes" to hitting buy now 🙈 I had no plans for them at the time either, just really loved them. I'm so looking forward to painting my toe nails and wearing them tomorrow evening!

@lucysmam thats great you got some cropped jeans, i'm sure you will look fab tomorrow. Off to hunt for your shoes lol

Have a great night 😁

lucysmam · 15/07/2023 00:51

@ToWonderWhyIBother there's a 3 and a 4 on Vinted...and a 7, but the seven are £50 😱

ClaraBourne · 15/07/2023 12:13

Lovely shoes! What brand are they?

Have a lovely evening!

lucysmam · 15/07/2023 12:28

@ClaraBourne they're Katy Perry.

Capri/Cigarette style trousers would look nice...

PlumPeony · 15/07/2023 18:00

If the top is tight, i wouldn't put tight capri trousers, to me it looks bit old-fashioned. I would combine with looser jeans or trousers.
